presentation of the 1250 Scout 101 2025
The Scout is a family unto itself. Five members make up the family, with tastes ranging from bobber to small tourer, all the while humming more classic tunes. With the 101, Indian is offering a Scout that's even rougher than the Sport. It's all about the thrill of the handlebars.
With its brawling paint schemes, the tone is immediately embraced. The Scout shows its teeth, with the assurance of its watts. It's the only one in the sororie to produce 111 hp from the SpeedPlus twin. A little more power and torque, to show that it's in charge, and to demonstrate its role as a fighter. Torque is also a tad higher, at 11.1 mkg.
For all the other Scouts, the jam is less sweet but still plentiful, given the engine's evolution. The old 1133 cm3 of previous machines has given way to a completely revised block, with a displacement of 1250 m3, redesigned crankcases, reworked injection and a new gearbox.
The most significant transformation concerns the chassis. The new tubular steel frame, a real departure from the old aluminum frame, is reinforced with much more muscular components. The front axle promises to be highly efficient, with its 43 mm inverted fork, adjustable settings and Brembo brakes. It's not the best in the catalog, like the M50 or the Stylema, well known and appreciated for trapper braking, but the M4.32 calipers know how to do a good job. They've already proved their worth on the FTR 1200. Especially since the 101 doubles up with two 320 mm brake discs. Pay attention to the absence of shrink discs, thus saving a few grams and unsprung mass. Agility loves that. On the other hand, why fit a 19" wheel with a 130 mm wide gumshoe? American-style sport has its own codes that are sometimes hard to understand.
Two higher-quality Piggyback shocks are invited to the rear, just below a Gunfighter seat designed to wedge the rear end for virile relaunches. The handlebars place the hands in a dominant position, with machined 150 mm bridges. The Scout 101 has also decided to pamper its rider with assistants. Equipment reserved for the "Limited +Tech" trim level on other Scouts is included here as standard. This means a 4-inch TFT circular display with Ride Command, Bluetooth, 3 driving modes (Sport - Standard - Touring), traction control, USB port, keyless start and cruise control.
Ready to discover more with its optimized body, the Indian doesn't forget its ego, with a mix of bobber and club-style in its appearance. With its machined rimsticks, small fork head, machete-shaped rear mudguard, front footrests and all-round black finish, the 101 is as mean as they come. Weighing in at 249 kg, it's one of the manufacturer's lighter models, but not the slimmest either. The Scout Bobber sibling benefits from better revs. And these are the FTRs with the best balance.

the 21st-century Scout range has never had a performance-oriented model with steel drooling around its lips. The 101 takes on this role, with a nice retro reference.
Once again, Indian has chosen a strong image from its past to present this "101" acronym. Dive into 1928, the birthplace of Philip K. Dick, a few weeks after Hirohito was named 124th Emperor of Japan.... Who cares?!? Ok, let's take a look at the States, where the Scout 101 in 37 ci and 45ci, the sportiest bike in the Indian range, has just been released. A very popular bike at the time, and one that everyone knows, then and now. Yes, it was for decades the favorite machine in the spectacular Wall of Death. Almost a century later, the 101 takes up the mantle of a sporty Scout.
