1,000 km range! Outstanding! No other motorcycle offers such a range. Even the R 1250 GS Adventure can hardly reach... half that mileage. This is the tour de force achieved by the new Rieju Aventura 500. The Spanish manufacturer's new trail bike immediately demonstrates its touring ambitions.

Yet it doesn't have the size. Although nicely designed, with a rather blatant Africa Twin mini look, the Aventura plays in a medium-displacement category. These days, adventurers don't plan long trips with a 500 cm3 engine; Adventure-Touring only starts at 1000 cm3 for the market

The 500 Aventura joins the big club of trail bikes whose power output meets the limits of an A2 license, i.e. 35 kW / 47.5 hp. Enough for all-road, and even off-road, riding without a second thought. But attempting the 1,000-mile game with a twin of this size is far from providing the level of comfort, pleasure and velocity expected on this kind of trip.

Never mind. Because biker spirit, hopes and disappointments don't stop at the size of the bike. Above all, when you look at the equipment, you can see that Reiju really wants his trail to discover a wide variety of winter terrain (a rotten pun). From the outset, the Aventura 500 is fitted with crashbars and a sabot to protect the engine, tubular chest reinforcements, metal-reinforced handguards, 21" and 18" spoked wheels with off-road tires (front: 90/90 - rear: 150/70), a protective grille for the radiator, substantial suspension travel (190 mm) without being overhanging, and a good deal of adjustment for the chassis. The inverted fork and shock absorber are adjustable from all sides.

Rieju Aventura 500 so much for the TT side of things. But that's far from the end of the list. Although its powertrain lacks the verve of a German, Italian or Austrian machine, its on-board equipment is surprising for a 500. Judge for yourself: package holder, center stand, good-sized windscreen, 7-inch color TFT screen, USB socket, ABS disconnectable at the rear or completely, and traction control.
Braking is no slouch either. The front is equipped with two 298 mm discs squeezed by double-piston radial calipers. The rear makes do with a 240 mm disc. But don't expect Brembo or Beringer brakes. Brakes and tires are sourced from Asian catalogs.

Another strategic point is weight. Due to its positioning and mechanics, the Aventura will be lighter than a big GS or a long-haul Multistrada. Yet it's not particularly svelte for its class: 190 kg dry weight, slightly more than a Ténéré 700. To which must be added the benzine in the fuel tanks.
Tanks? Yes, the tanks. To offer truck-like autonomy, the Rieju trail combines 2 fuel bunkers, each holding 20 liters. One in front of the rider, the other in the rear frame. Ducati offers a similar solution on its DesertX, except that the additional tank is optional.

Rieju Aventura 500 It's a pity the machine lacks a distinctive identity. We've known Rieju to be more imaginative. And then, some will object that this bike is too much of a copycat, with anAT 1100 dashboard and lines, and an engine (built by Loncin) strongly inspired by that of the CB 500 X.
All this can be explained by the Aventura's provenance. Spanish in name only. Underneath the colors is a Hengjian HJMoto HJ500-8. No need to mention the country of origin. This explains the technical similarities and the rich level of equipment for a bargain price.

Well-equipped for a mid-size trail bike, and for a trail bike at that, the Aventura 500 is sure to delight A2 explorers. It's the only one to offer the possibility of starting in the morning and stopping only when you arrive in the evening, without having to refuel. All that remains is to convince the market of the bona fides of a Spanish-Chinese Nathan Drake.

French Cyril Model 2025
Already 10,000 km in 8 months, impeccable, too delighted, plus the two fill-ups last me two weeks! She's pleasant and has character, and what's more, she's big and beautiful. Rating : 5/5
At last, a trail bike that looks like a trail bike, with the spoked wheels we love. I find it hard to understand why manufacturers don't settle for something simple and rustic if it's going to be a long-distance adventure, judging by the additional fuel tank.

Personally, I'm 57 years old and have ridden an XRV 750 AT, and today such a weight and size scares me (I'm 1m72 for 68 Kg), so anything that's Yamaha 1200, AT 1100, BMW 1300 etc.... it's not even worth thinking about, because if I fall off the bike at a standstill, I'd have nothing but tears in my eyes before I could get help to lift it, not to mention if I had to change a tire, wow, I can imagine the nightmare. Even if I like it, the weight in running order is the same as my old XRV 750, so I'd go elsewhere
Rating : 4/5
36,000 on the odometer today and 18 countries Terrible conditions, from 50 degrees to a week of rain in Eastern Europe, and it's still going on For the price, the equipment and the reliability, we say yes The adventure is finally available to all pockets Those who have questions, I'll be happy to answer them with real feedback Rating : 5/5

Hi, I'm starting my solo round-the-world trip next year and I'm considering the Ténéré 700, honda nx500 and rieju 500 options. I would love to hear from you or your social networks to follow your adventure and learn more about you and the bike. Best regards and bon voyage!!! Rating : 5/5

With a dry weight of 190 and a 40-liter tank plus fluids, the weight in running order is more like 240 kilos. Otherwise, to offer a motorcycle at this price that's so complete in terms of protection and equipment is really top-notch! In my opinion, the double tank is a truly suitable offering for a trail bike wanting adventure, and it really stands out in this swallowing market thanks to its autonomy. For everyday use and short trips, there's no need to fill up both tanks... a truly useful and pragmatic approach to the needs of an adventure trail bike. Rating : 5/5
Le bon compromis ?
French Model 2024
2024 is going to be a pivotal year: Royal Enfield has presented its new Himalayan 450, CF Moto is concocting a rather promising 450 MT and this Rieju joins the ranks of these new accessible and sufficiently high-performance trails. After having ridden just about every style of motorcycle and almost every engine size, I've come, like more and more bikers, to turn to more basic, less expensive motorcycles that are not short on fun.
Today, I ride a side car and a Voge 300 Rally, and I must admit that this Rieju has caught my eye, as a complement for a more "travel" type of use, without sacrificing the "off-road adventure" aspect. I've yet to try out the 3 bikes mentioned above, but it's encouraging to see that you can once again enjoy yourself without killing your LDD or, worse still, your Livret A.

My latest acquisition, my 39th motorcycle... I still have 2 BMW RT, 1 speed Triple, 1 250 YZF, 1 TR1 1000; I bought this bike for its weight under 200kg, its 2 tanks, and its standard equipment. It can be ridden by a small person despite its 84cm seat height. Today in running-in I do not regret this purchase. We'll just have to see how it turns out... Rating : 5/5

I have a BMW 1200 gs that my wife loves (she made me buy it) but personally I'd swap it for this aventura. I'll keep an eye on prices and if I can, I'll buy one as a 2nd bike Rating : 5/5
French Model 2024
At 80 on the road and 130 on the freeway, this rieju is more than enough to get us into trouble. Then there's the weight, because a 500 on the road should be at least 20kg lighter. Rating : 5/5
Pas de longs périples !!!
French Model 2024
Hello, you don't need a big engine to travel. I've had several bmw gsa's, I've changed radically for a Himalayan, I do with 25000 km a year. It's much more reassuring than having a bmw that can't be repaired in many countries. With the himalayan, I can get help in any village :-) Didier Rating : 1/5
