automatic mode is another dimension of comfort. It's a gamble tested from time to time by a manufacturer, aimed at a very targeted clientele, the curious, or those whose left foot would like to take a breather. With a limited customer base and just 2 models: the Mana 850 and the Yamaha FJR 1300 AS, the automated system is still gaining ground in France, and Aprilia intends to reinforce this presence with another version of its roadster. Introducing the Mana 850 GT.

the recipe is the same as for the Shiver GT, which appeared at the same time. We take the machine, its chassis, engine and peripherals, apply new decals, slightly rework the fork to assume a graft and add a fork head. A good idea: not only does it increase the bike's road potential, it also makes it one of the few bikes that relaxes your foot and neck muscles.

and yet, despite its trellis frame, big V-twin and radial brake calipers, the Mana is more practical than sporty (the Shiver and Dorsoduro take care of that). Its 76 horsepower, smoothed torque curve, adjustable windscreen, auto gearbox and fake fuel tank (in reality, it's a trunk that can hold a helmet) make it a machine tailor-made for touring.
Dual-channel ABS is available, and is gradually invading the entire Aprilia range.

Excellente moto
French Maxflow Model 2010
Hello A few years ago, I had a 2008 Mana that I loved for its ease of use. Then I had an Xadv and an NT1100 but finally I took back a 2013 Mana and I found happiness again! I use it only in automatic and I placed a rear brake lever on the handlebars. Solo or duo, it's a joy! Fuel consumption 5L range 250km at ease. 76hp always available. Handling, excellent braking, comfortable, efficient in all circumstances! Rating : 5/5

I bought this bike because I had to part with my FJR 1300 due to back problems, and could no longer use my left leg properly. I was looking for an automatic motorcycle, and this one was just what I was looking for: a road model with the possibility of carrying luggage, a duo, so I opted for this motorcycle, which was completely new to me. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to use it much, but my first impressions are very good. However, you have to be very careful when disengaging the engine on downhill curves in the mountains. If you're not careful, it's very dangerous to pick up speed when you disengage the drive.
For the moment, the only negative point I've found is engine vibration, and the use of the rear brake is almost useless because of the lack of bite. The boot hidden in the tank is very practical, especially thanks to its plug which allows you to connect a GPS or other peripheral. I'm very satisfied with this purchase, which nevertheless makes me miss real motorcycles because of the noise, which sounds more like a TMax than a motorcycle (normal because of the variator).

Aprilia Mana un plaisir
French Philou Model 2014
Acquired second hand 2 years ago after 15 other models of different make and style, for me it's happiness, very easy to handle, very functional, the automatic gearbox is a joy, no fatigue, fuel consumption at 2 about 5.2 liters /100km, in the city that's fun, on the road enough power to have fun,i'm just sorry I didn't buy this bike before, I lowered it because I'm 1.68 m tall, changed the side stand, added high beam lights and a large bubble, otherwise the rest of the original equipment is frankly great, my bike isn't a GT and has no ABS, if I change I won't hesitate, it'll be a GT Rating : 5/5

Good evening.
I'm interested in the Mana, how did you lower the bike? Thank you very much.

French Gab,s Model 2014
My 2nd Mana in 10 years. Maximum efficiency for minimum effort. I drive automatic, mainly in touring mode. Sport is reserved for l'arzouille with friends and their BMW GS and other 100hp roadsters. From 20 to 120 km/h, it's quite simply impressive on the mountain passes. Gas, brake and road. Gearbox management, that's for the others! The selector cleverly allows you to lower the gears temporarily before a bend, and the gearbox switches back to automatic on acceleration. Top gear, I tell you. These rivals are either weak (Honda 750) or too heavy (VFR). Thanks Aprilia. Plus: a sexy pot than the original and a road 5 shoe Rating : 5/5

Bjr. This is my 2nd Mana after an 850 Néro.

The 850 GT ABS is great and gives me complete satisfaction.
It's easy to drive in town, as it's not too "big", and the automatic drive is very relaxing.
Pleasant and sufficient on the road. I rode Corsica as a duo, and it's very well suited to this type of touring, and I also had a lot of fun shifting gears on the handlebars, as it responds well...
I'm not considering another bike at the moment. Hi

Handicapped on my left foot (I can't "lift" it), the Mana has enabled me to get back into motorcycling after several years of enforced abstinence..
First a 2008 850 to discover and appreciate, then a 2012 GT for maximum comfort. This summer, my wife and I went to Corsica. 20 days of pure bliss
100% satisfied

This bike is great, easy and very pleasant. I have a disease of the left hand, my fingers are blocked. I'm having a lot of fun with this bike. It has enabled me to keep riding. I used to have a Harley d. Fat boy and a Honda cbr 1000. This aprilia is powerful enough, of good quality and beautiful. Rating : 5/5

Hi there,
i've had the mana 850 NA Black competition since April 2009 and really ... it's GREAT, especially for heavy riders...I've had an 1100 BULLDOG, a 900 Triumph THRUXTON, a 2008 Hayabusa (superb but exclusive)...I'm a fan of the MANA, I've fitted it with a leovince and a DNA filter, operating the engine is a real treat. Finally, I mainly use the manual mode with handlebar pads (sometimes with my foot, for nostalgia's sake!!lol) and I get a kick out of it, because everything's there...torque, noise, power, responsiveness...what a delight, thank you APRILIA and too bad I missed the MANA GT!!!!

hello,
Upgrading the Mana to GT would probably be more successful with a larger fuel tank: 15l is really not much for a GT.
