presentation of the RS 125 2021
Aprilia is the only Italian manufacturer to perpetuate the racing spirit through a 125cc sports bike. The epic continues with a new RS 125, judiciously revised to keep up with the times. The engine is improved, the face is refined, the technology is tweaked. In the heart of the Veneto region, we know that motorcycles can be perfected right from the small displacement stage. So, what assets has this new RS been given?
For starters, the face has been redesigned to reflect the new look. The styling of the RS 660 is spreading throughout the manufacturer's machines. The resemblance isn't as pronounced as with the RSV4, but the eyes are sufficiently refined to give it more speed in the eyes. Between the new decals, the repositioning of the indicators in the headlights and that little viper's face, the impression of novelty is such that we belatedly realize that everything else has not evolved since theEx-RS.
For sure, Aprilia wasn't going to "margouliner" by just changing the suit. A few improvements lurk here and there. Cornering behavior should improve with a 140 mm wider rear tire. The Bosch ABS is new, the half-handlebars have been raised by 18 mm to make the riding position more flexible, and the aluminum frame, footrests, fork and motor have been painted to a higher quality.

Budding young riders will be delighted. What's more, they can install a shifter (optional) to tease the gearbox. This part, a symbol of performance and riding comfort, first appeared on the previous generation RS 125. It's the same as the perimeter frame, inverted fork, 300 mm brake disc with 4-piston radial caliper and asymmetrical swingarm. The tires, on the other hand, have been changed to Michelin (Pilot Street).
Back to the obvious. Once the controls are in the rider's hands and the single-cylinder is bellowing, he's mainly concerned with his trajectories and a little with the dashboard; totally new. The half-needle (rev counter) half-digital panel has been replaced by an all-LCD window. In addition to information such as speed, rpm, battery voltage, time, mileage, engine temperature and fuel level, the display can be either blue or white. Another visit to the options section allows you to add the Aprilia MIA multimedia platform, to connect your smartphone and discover new functionalities.
The RS 125 is also a reminder of its prestigious heritage. 54 world championship titles, prominently badged on the tank. Of which 20 in the 125 category, with 2-stroke machines that are now just memories. Today, enough time has passed for the new drivers of this RS 125 not to be nostalgic for the engine of yesteryear. Regret is out of the question, and it's time for action. We think it's badass, we weld it on, and we'll see what happens next.
