presentation of the 1000 DB5 Borsalino 2008
As usual, the manufacturer has crafted a superb little jewel. Its stunning black and gold color scheme suits it like a suit of armor. The colors alternate on every part of the machine: gold for the Marchesini rims, Öhlins suspension, frame side plates, foot controls, air vents and gold Brembo calipers. Black spreads like velvet over the trellis frame, tubular swingarm, fairing elements and fuel tank
There's nothing innovative about this color in itself (the Yamaha R1 SP and Triumph Daytona 675 SE also feature it), but it does dress up this umpteenth version of the DB5 magnificently, and is only available to order. The beauty is enticing, elegant... a lady.
We'd have liked her to have more response under her skirt. It's almost frustrating to discover such a beautiful bike, with such great gear and no more than 92 grunts in the mill. Unlike the DB7, powered by Ducati's latest 160 hp twin, the Borsalino throbs to the rhythm of the 1000 DS desmo of the old Multistrada. But should we really hold it against it?
