presentation of the Concept RR 2025
The Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance is an opportunity to see a prestigious and ultra-glamorous selection of vehicles, from all eras but above all of the highest standing. It's also an opportunity for BMW to showcase its future. Many of the specimens presented there augured well for the future. With the RR concept, the Bavarian manufacturer reveals the direction its future sports models will take. S 100 RR, M 1000 RR... and perhaps other new RRs?!
With its sharper eyes, less crowded fins, more Endurance-style fuel tank and airy yet hyper-futuristic rump, the RR Concept heralds a clear generational break. As much or even more so than the transition between the pre-2019 and post-2019 S 1000 RRs. This prototype smells of the future, of big weight savings and power.
A competition-escaped concept
The machine would be just the thing to warm up its slicks. BMW has incorporated the block from the current Superbike machine into its aluminum perimeter frame. The 4-cylinder engine is capable of producing over 230 hp. The S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR currently boast 210 and 218 hp respectively. No doubt the engine-makers will be able to add a ladleful of power for the next generation, as the Concept RR shows.

The advantage of a concept bike is the freedom given to the designers. The RR logo under the seat serves as a taillight, while the dots on the rump hint at future turn signals. It's also an opportunity to install a host of beautiful parts, such as Öhlins suspension, a carbon fairing and swingarm, Brembo GP4-SBK brake calipers, an adjustable swingarm axle and electronics taken from the WSBK machine - engine management, traction control, shifter, engine braking, highly configurable riding aids, etc. Elements that will be found again on the RR. Features that won't be found on a production model, but which make you dream.
The RR concept makes a dent in the curtain covering the next generation of BMWs. Galvanized by the performances of Foray and Razgatlioglu, the German sports cars seem to want to get ahead of the game. This styling exercise is here to warm up our adrenalin.
