presentation of the F 650 GS 2002

the new version of the F 650 GS is far more original than its predecessor. The sporty look doesn't prevent the trail from offering serious road capabilities. Still powered by a 4-valve Rotax engine, it features fuel injection and a catalyzed exhaust system with lambda probe. At BMW, pollution is no laughing matter. Injected, the single-pump engine is remarkably smooth. It has a nice mid-range torque and is a real pleasure to drive. An effort remains to be made on the gearbox side. Tonic, the mill can sustain a good cruising speed. Protection is adequate, and the rider can sit back and relax. Taller riders will prefer a higher seat, while others will appreciate its accessibility.

with its new look, the GS also introduces a new chassis. Consisting of 2 longitudinal members and a rear triangle housing the fuel tank, it ensures the bike's stability and efficiency. Thanks to its generous suspension travel, the bike remains serene on poorly maintained roads. BM doesn't forget the practical side of things, with adjustable rear damping via a thumbwheel. Quick and easy when you need to adapt the bike to the duo and/or luggage. ABS is available as an option, but proves too sensitive at the rear.
Overall, the F 650 GS does not disappoint. It's a BMW, and it shows, especially at the price: it's the most expensive single in its class. You can even get a 650 Transalp for a handful of euros more. But a bike stamped with the propeller always exudes a special seduction.

Parfaite pour commencer
French Axe_well Model 2001
First bike, I had to ride at 25 kw, but frankly very, very reliable! On the way down to Spain from Switzerland, I had no problems whatsoever, and it was even very pleasant to ride on all roads. On the negative side, a sixth gear would be ideal on the freeway. On the positive side, off-road, a real gazelle, it's a pleasure to drive. Once up to full power (37 kw), you notice an improvement, but nothing to worry about... I rode it down to Croatia with a passenger, and once again, it was more than reliable! Motorways and Alpine passes for two are a pleasure. I recommend this bike for low-budget riders and first-time bikers who need to get their claws into it! I'm looking forward to upgrading to the big sister (F 800 GS) for even more thrills and reliability for two. Rating : 5/5
French Valoche Model 2003
Extremely easy to ride. Bought to get back into the swing of things after a long period without a bike, curves and especially tight bends are negotiated perfectly. The same goes for traffic jams. Extremely comfortable, well protected from the wind, just needs a bit of stretch on the freeway. Rating : 3/5
IDEAL TRAJET BOULOT
French mirko Model 2000
small, reliable trail, ideal for small roads and towns, ridiculous fuel consumption (5LITRE when opening quite a lot), healthy, almost playful chassis, surprising for an old trail, corect engine for power
obviously, freeways and main roads are not its strong points, design not great but doesn't attract thieves...
