presentation of the F 700 GS 2016
munich's multitasking mid-cylinder trail bike gets a makeover for 2016. BMW seems to think that it doesn't need any in-depth technical changes for the time being, although the competition is active in this segment. So the F 700 GS makes cosmetic advances. Mainly on the tank sides, which feature a metallic coating. A bit flashy, as was the case for the shoulders of the R 1200 GS in 2008. The top of the tank has been redesigned.
The two-tone saddles are now available in five different heights, with four seat variants and an optional lowered chassis. The choice of seat heights ranges from 765 mm to 860 mm. The Sport color (white with red frame) is fitted with a pair of protectors as standard.
born as a 650 and uprated to 700, the BM actually plays with numbers, as its twin actually measures 798 cm3. There's no change in displacement from the old to the new generation, or from the F 800 GS, but the mapping has been revised to deliver 75 hp at 7300 rpm. The 800 GS also has a healthy dose of peachiness, with 85 bhp, to set it apart from the rest.
To conclude this series of figures, the F 700 GS is available for the European A2 license: the engine can be limited to 48 hp.
with its spoked wheels, smaller front rim and reduced suspension travel, the F 700 GS is clearly less off-road-oriented than its 800 sibling. Its domain is more asphalt, the city, and the ease of the trail to get away from everyday life. The 2013 evolution brought a big plus in terms of safety. A second front disc and disconnectable dual-channel ABS (standard) enhanced braking. Then, by dipping into the options list, this GS can be transformed into a bionic machine. Depending on your desires and your wallet, you can add ADC tire pressure control, in-house ASC traction control, and ESA automatic suspension adjustment - electronic refinements reserved until recently for big machines like the R 1200 GS.
If you dig a little deeper into the (very extensive) list of options, you'll have enough to create a veritable showcase of the GS world. Among the most useful: Vario cases, heated grips, several types of bubble, saddles and engine shoes... There are three pages like that!

Metzé Tourance lasts 15,000 KM, but steering above 170, perhaps due to the high bubble and Top case. DON'T GO THERE! In my opinion, that's why BM's original bubble is so tiny... Rating : 4/5 Respond to PHIL34
however, I have a problem with the battery losing charge and discharging after 48 hours without using it. BMW couldn't find the fault and I have to recharge it every 3 days or disconnect the battery when I'm away for more than a week.
i don't know if anyone has the same problem? Rating : 5/5 Respond to RG
reliable economical north course achieved with
easy good braking
the only reproach is that I have to equip it, which requires a substantial investment Rating : 5/5 Respond to quentosh
1st impression: very smooth engine that responds when you need it, less brutal than the f800r (less jerky shifting), better wind protection and a more upright position, so less strain on the kidneys
Madame loved its comfort, especially the upright position Rating : 5/5 Respond to Matrixx
Looks, comfort, reliability, ease of use, etc.
The only hitch was a slight lack of wind protection above 120 km/h.
This problem will soon be solved by replacing the original bubble with a higher one. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Bluebird
More conventional in presentation (and a little less expensive )BMW was a hit with this model... Neither a failure nor a success, in my opinion. Rating : 3/5 Respond to sergeair
