presentation of the K 1200 LT 1999
not content with offering one of the best road bikes on the market with its R 1150 RT, BMW has now gone one better with a model that competes directly with the Goldwing: the K 1200 LT. Based on the engine and chassis architecture of the RS, it differs in several respects (apart from the silhouette, of course): The engine has been reworked to deliver more low-end torque, and the gearbox is a 5-speed. The chassis remains faithful to the Telelever and Paralever. The latter is 8 cm longer, and the two components are joined by a cast aluminum frame. In terms of equipment, it's Byzantium: heated, height-adjustable seat, heated grips and top-case backrest, trip computer, cruise control, 8 HP stereo system, optional 6-CD changer (which cuts out a good part of the right pannier), ABS, adjustable windscreen (2 sizes to choose from), reverse gear.... and I could go on for another dozen minutes.
Thanks to its torque, the Bavarian 4-cylinder has no trouble towing the colossal machine. A little "drier" than Honda's 6-cylinder flathead, this mill is not a show-off, but an efficient one.
its fuel consumption is more than reasonable and its cruising speed surprising. Aboard this vessel of the road, you'll travel in senatorial comfort: seated in an armchair, enjoying absolute protection, the driver sings his hymn to travel in the most perfect tranquillity. When it comes to dynamics, this big tourer is surprising. It doesn't deviate from the course dictated, and remains unflappable in sweeping curves tackled at sustained speed. Lacking sufficient ground clearance, the footrests rub quickly when optimistically angled. City maneuvers are not as easy as with the RT. The behemoth approaches the half-ton mark with a duo on it. Its elegance, modernism and comfort make it a formidable competitor to the inescapable Goldwing.

I have a K 1200 LT from 2001
I am looking for a set that could replace the current K7 set while keeping the av/ar controls
Does anyone have a solution
Yours sincerely Rating : 5/5 Respond to K 1200 LT
Once mastered, it can become very dynamic, as long as you stay above 40 km/h. Below this speed, it becomes heavy and unstable. Below that, it becomes heavy and unstable. Beware of falls at standstill when loaded, as it is very heavy. The side stand is a disaster: if the bike can roll 10cm forward (box clearance), it ends up on the ground.
Otherwise, it's true: every comfort. Perfect wind protection, heated seats and grips, electric bubble, tempomat, radio-CD, full ABS... one more airbag, air conditioning and seatbelt and it's a car. Ideal for long journeys on good roads, you arrive at your destination without tiring. Not recommended for those who like the feel of a motorcycle: no wind, no feel for the road, no subjective acceleration given the torquey nature of the engine, which nonetheless accelerates objectively more than enough. Prefer the later version, which has gained a few horsepower... Rating : 3/5 Respond to Clément
