presentation of the XBRR 2007
good old Erik! The 9 and 12 R weren't enough for him, so he had to come up with an even more radical machine. His new XBRR is so radical, in fact, that it can only be used on the racetrack (the beast is not road-legal). The XBRR is a "return to basics" for Erik Buell - in the mid-80s, this American engineer built his own racing bike for the AMA championship: the RW 750. This XB perpetuates Erik's fond memories and racing spirit. With its tank-frame and oil-containing swingarm, the machine remains ultra-compact... and now with a modifiable wheelbase: the connecting-rod axle is adjustable, allowing the wheelbase to be set between 1315 and 1367 mm, to suit different types of track. Buell entrusts its suspension to Öhlins, and braking to a perimeter disc clamped by an 8-piston caliper (6 on road versions). Magnesium wheels weigh 1/3 less than standard wheels.
Always faithful to Harley, the small subsidiary powers the XBRR with a V-twin increased to 1339 cm3 and 150 hp. The engine is fed by 62 mm twin-barrel injectors and a RAM AIR intake built into the fairing. The fairing is also made of carbon fiber. Intake ducts above the fuel tank allow fresh air to cool the engine's oil cooler.
This Buell XBRR will be produced in a limited edition of 50 units for an indigestible price of 30,000 roros.
