presentation of the Super Cruiser 1190 x RSD 2025
Buell hasn't given up in the loud-mouthed machine sector. Even though his machines have long since ceased to be sold on European soil, except second-hand, the whimsical creator keeps some under his belt to offer his vision and creativity on a regular basis.
from this juice, the 1200 Super Cruiser is ready to be born. Buell has never made a name for itself in the custom segment, and it's a surprise to see it doing so. But beware, not with the idea of cruising or grand touring. This beast is designed to atomize 3/4 of anything on the road.
the big names in custom bikes are powered by 1800cm3 or 1900cm3 engines. The Super Cruiser will make do with an 1190 cm3. And yet, with that, it can beat up Ducati Diavel V4s or Triumph Rocket IIIs. Harley Low Rider S or Indian Chief will only have their superior torque to defend themselves.
The X RSD has it in the bag. Its big twin comes directly from the sporty Hammerhead - which we've never seen before and probably never will. It has been slightly downsized, but retains 175 horsepower. A colossal force in the segment. Combined with a weight well below the norm. At 204 kilos, the Super Cruiser is a hundred kilos lighter than other American models.
the Buell's styling is reminiscent of the old Harley FXR, while blending unorthodox technical solutions that are hardly surprising on Erik's part. The front end is anything but academic, with its 17-inch wheel, long-travel inverted fork (almost cross-country) and Buell-esque braking: a large 396 mm perimeter disc clamped by an 8-piston spade. The rear is no slouch either, with a large hypersport-type swingarm and a 17-inch rim. The whole is connected by a tubular steel frame.
the frame was designed in collaboration with Roland Sands (that's the guy in the photos), well known in the world of customization. It's not immediately obvious, but when you see the SC Project exhaust, the adjustable foot controls, the dragster seat, the machined fork tees and the multi-focal headlamp, you can tell that a tuner had a hand in it. And his skills for the chassis. It was he who designed the frame, which has to take a lot of horsepower.

and why didn't Roland use his imagination to hide the big cooling radiator? How hard can it be to make two big carbon scoops?
the Buell Super Cruiser is equipped with a TFT screen to monitor tempo. But the American company is rather stingy with technical data. As a result, the presence or absence of steering assistants, fuel tank capacity, torque (perhaps close to 14 mkg), price, target markets... We'll have to speculate. Even if the year 2025 is announced as the release date, there's still some doubt as to the project's finality.
in the United States, which is very fond of this kind of delirium, a certain or confidential production will find takers. The starting price is expected to be a good $20,000. But for Europe, between the standards, the restricted market and the price, which should easily exceed 20,000 euros, it's going to be a bumpy ride. But nothing can be taken for granted, and a lot can be done. 995 dollars.
