its size brings it closer to the Yamaha TDR - a mistake, as the Supercity is closer to a sports bike than an urban trail bike. The powertrain is borrowed from the Mito, a 2 T single that can produce 34 hp when unbridled (forbidden in France), a 7-speed gearbox (6 from 1998), inverted fork, reinforced swingarm and large brake disc. Everything you need to have fun, but in a sporty way. The suspension is firm, the face aggressive, the engine hot-blooded... The machine is precise, maneuverable and highly efficient. Almost as aggressive as Italian 125 sports bikes, life on board is far more enjoyable. A TDR that would have eaten a lion - it loses in comfort what it gains in performance, namely a very average turning radius and an Italian-style chassis - efficient but somewhat tough.

I had this crazy bike from 1998 to 2008, in full power (I've got the license), and it was a blast!
Crazy braking (stoppies galore!), dragster acceleration if you hit the revs, sporty handling...
In winter, I'd cover up the radiator a bit to get it to heat up faster (short trips), and the trip from home to work and back felt like a Grand Prix qualifier.
But raw pleasure comes at a price, brake pads every 2,500km, chain and tire kit (front and rear!) 5,000km, I'd put a rear tire a hair higher and 1 tooth less on the sprocket, it didn't grind in 7th gear but still took the red even when not lying down! 165 on the clock...

All (yes ALL!) the gears pulled at over 12,000rpm on every outing ended in a broken linkage, but what bike would have stood the revs (pun intended) for almost 10,000km?

A 100% pleasure bike in full power mode! but absolutely not economical, you have to know what you want and assume it.

Bjr I have a 125 supercity sport cross. the problem is that the bike has trouble starting, it is long. the 4th to 6th and does not get up. besides the 5iem 6iem I have never passed, because it grazes at that speed

I've had a Supercity for 3 years, bought new. It's THE QUEEN of the city and not afraid of out-of-town rides, the best 125 on the market. You have to maintain it properly, and warm up the engine before pushing it. Luxury chassis, reasonable maintenance costs
I have excellent memories of it

Tough exhaust corosion... Otherwise, it's a very good machine indeed. The fork withstands violent braking without flinching and, above all, without talloner (at this level of the range, that's important). Maintenance not too high I took it to 40000 milestone with an engine rebuild what about those who claim to have to do it at 10 000!!!! I've had it for 2 years and 18,000 km. So there you have it, a very good bike in terms of handling, equipment, riding pleasure... The only well-known drawback is that it's a fairly advanced 125 2-stroke, and an Italian one at that, which means rigorous maintenance and frequent parts changes. I'm talking about 3,500 francs a year for maintenance and 10,000 km a year. To put everyone in agreement on performance: * Supercity 6-speed, 28mm carburettor (the latest) - 31Ch - 155Km/h odometer - 4.5-5.0 l/100Km * Supercity 7-speed, 34mm carburettor (the earliest) - 34Ch - 165Km/h odometer - ? l/100Km For engine speeds, the max for these 2 strokes is 11500Tr/min, so Manolo 14000TR is impossible!!! I've had a SUPERCITY for 3 months now and I think it's PHENOMENAL! With lightning acceleration after 7/8,000 rpm, and eye-catching looks, you can't go unnoticed on it. Quite comfortable for my taste, it doesn't shy away from long journeys (I sometimes do 150 km in one go) and even at over 130 km/h it retains a good reserve of power for easy overtaking on fast lanes and a top speed of 160 mph. The only drawbacks: I find the suspension a little soft for ultra-sporty use, and the lack of storage space is a nuisance in everyday use (backpacks are a must). What's more, in the free version, fuel consumption soars to a maximum of 200km. Otherwise, it's an ultra-fun and super-exclusive bike. A quick question in passing: it's impossible to exceed 11,000 rpm... whereas the same block on the Mito peaks at 14,000 rpm... is it possible that my Supercity isn't totally unbridled??? 12/23/2004 15:13 Rating : 5/5 Respond to Manolo
