presentation of the 1000 V4 SR-RR prototype 2026
She threatens, she approaches, she doesn't tremble. Its growl anticipates its fury. A new high-calibre sports car is preparing for battle. But not from Europe or Japan.
From China, from CFMOTO, which is about to roll out its 1000 SR-RR!
It's going to hurt! Even very, very bad, if the performance level teases the benchmarks from the very first comparos. The pain is going to be intense, and could open up a very important psychological breach. But why, how and when will this missile provoke this shock?
Because this is China's first hypersport! And what it announces in its guts will tie up those of the competition.
CFMOTO will be the first Chinese manufacturer to challenge the world of Superbikes. It's a high-tension zone, where speed meets lap times, where man defies performance, and where the symbol of excellence for a brand remains in people's minds. The SR-RR naturally finds its place there, with its racy plastic and, above all, its unmistakable look. We wouldn't go so far as to say it's beautiful, but it slams you in the retina without detour. Even more so with its extravagant fins, enough to make BMW or Aprilia growl. But....
Innovation already ahead of its time
But the Hangzhou-based brand goes one step further with active winglets, capable of pivoting to modify the force of the offset. The SR-RR will be able to prioritize downforce or minimize drag in real time, depending on handling and speed. Innovations in aerodynamics are usually the preserve of high-ranking Italian motorcycles - this time, China was the first to draw the line.

The 1000 SR-RR will be awaited above all by its efficiency and its engine. At the end of 2024, it was unveiled with some very appetizing promises - and confirmed for the model in the pipeline. Nothing less than a V4, THE powerplant in vogue to atomize the counters. Its displacement is 997 cm3. And while the brand didn't reveal its engine dimensions, design or detailed technical data, it did indicate the presence of a counter-rotating crankshaft (like a certain Panigale V4) and a power output in excess of 210 hp!
A staggering impact! The SR-RR would place it directly ahead of the R1, ZX-10R and GSX-R1000R. What a slap in the face. What's more, its power-to-weight ratio is less than 1 kg per horse. This hypersport will therefore remain close to 200 kgs. Can you smell the tires melting and the competitors sharpening their wolf traps?
Premium and racing
What's more, the 1000 SR-RR doesn't mess around with its chassis either. It uses an aluminum hull frame supported by the engine (still the Panigale V4 inthe sights or in the DNA?). It's already thinking about attracting fine tuners by offering an adjustable steering column and swingarm pivot. A refinement offered by the best Italian sports cars. The suspensions, most likely Öhlins, are semi-active.
This proto is fitted with top-of-the-range racing equipment, which will certainly not be found on the production version, but which demonstrates CFMOTO's seriousness and level of commitment in this area. At the end of the upside-down forks is a pair of Brembo GP4-MS calipers; aluminum calipers carved from the mass, for use on the fringes of a Superbike championship. The rims are forged, for minimum weight and unrivalled agility. There's also an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system with twin tailpipes, carbon cladding, a Brembo racing master cylinder and other high-quality parts.

There's no indication of the CFMOTO 1000 SR-RR's electronics, apart from a shifter and a large color TFT. In any case, it will need at least traction control, several riding modes, Launch Control, cornering ABS, an inertial unit, engine braking management and several power modes to show a class-leading CV. Not too much to worry about, just convince Bosch to supply the technology.
The machine's claim to fame is to break the 300 km/h barrier, and it will do so with glee as much as provocation. Given its current stage of development, and the echoes of the brand heard at EICMA, it could reach the market in 2027. The most likely trigger for an earthquake in the category would be a price tag as aggressive as that of other models in the range. Just imagine this hypersport slapping on 17,000 or 18,000 euros, while rivals start at 21,000 minimum. If, on top of that, it can give them a run for their money on the racetrack, the world of sports cars should be in for a memorable shock.
