presentation of the DesertX Discovery 937 2025
The DesertX is more of an adventure bike than the Multistrada. With it, Ducati wanted something more typical, more rocky, able to lift rocks and miles with reasonable power. But now the machine wants to spend even more time on expeditions, with people on board and their whims (like taking spare clothes or telephones). So, to go from discovery to discovery, the DesertX is transformed into a Discovery
It's immediately noticeable for its on-board luggage and its special color scheme, a little racing, a little obscure and mostly devastating. The bike seems convinced that it can overcome any obstacle, and it's determined to prove it. The first step is to pack the aluminum suitcases with the belongings needed for the trip. 76 liters of capacity are available. Then fill up the tank, switch on the 937 cm3 twin, select one of the 4 riding modes (as for the DesertX std) and ride...
...By daring to tackle difficulties head-on, because the Discovery is equipped for them. A roll bar-crash bar assembly is fitted to the torso to save the body in the event of a fall. There's also a tubular water pump guard, a large engine mount and a radiator grille. On the touring side, protection raises the bar with a high bubble and a set of handguards. Heated grips will enable you to tackle cold ground and/or dreary seasons. Ducati also installs a center stand, always handy for maintenance operations, and the Turn-by-Turn application for a simplified GPS navigator.
A little like the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, this DesertX Discovery is above all an accessorized model, but with a unique color scheme to assert its difference. Of course, this dose of equipment has an influence on the price... but Ducati makes an effort. The Discovery is priced at just under 20,000 dollars. Whereas a standard DesertX with the same accessories climbs to over $23,800, and that's without the special paintwork.
All this is in addition to an abundance of standard features, especially electronics. The DesertX is equipped with a tubular steel trellis frame, KYB adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes, 21" and 18" tubeless spoked wheels fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR large-block tires, generous suspension travel (230 mm and 220 mm), a 5" vertical TFT screen and a host of riding aids: ABS cornering, shifter, traction control, anti-wheeling, engine brake adjustment, cruise control, USB and 12V sockets, daytime running lights, all LED lighting, auto shut-off indicators, etc., etc....
