A new Ducati sports bike is always an event. 750 SS; 900 MHr ; 916 , Panigale... The list goes back as far as the 70s. The new Panigale V4 is no exception.

Although.... The effect is less striking, less gripping for this new generation. Because expectations were too high? Because the first Panigale V4 had made such an impression on the market, competitors and fans alike, that it was surreal to provoke a new fascination after it?

That's not to say the new Panigale V4 S won't be a magnet for sportbike enthusiasts and beyond. For its looks, for its performance, for its technology, for this genetic heritage where competition is akin to incompressible devotion.

Beautiful, and more than that. The Superbike from Bologna has been given a new look, with sides shaped by knife and cooling, a desire to integrate its winglets even further, and a dress to make most motorcycles on the road pale. Ergonomics have been extensively revised; the single-arm has been removed in favor of a particularly elaborate element; the famous V4 engine has gained a few crumbs of power, while the chassis optimizes its torsion (by reducing it) to give it more feel. A surgically-precise chassis will be more appealing than the Ducat's 216 horsepower, enabling it to go faster into corners and, above all, come out of them like a torpedo. The latter will atomize distances towards the horizon or the next bend.

The Panigale V4's S version features a premium chassis. As has been customary since the 998 S, the entire suspension package has been entrusted to Öhlins. A superb 43 mm NPX-30 inverted fork, combined with a TTX 36 monoshock. All fully adjustable and supervised by a Smart EC 3.0 electronic management system. Ducati continues to use controlled damping to offer first-rate track feedback and responsiveness, under electronic supervision. The whole system has been further optimized, with the expected formidable efficiency - more comfortable on the road, more valiant on the track. But pure track riders would have preferred Öhlins suspension with manual adjustments. OK, he's got the Panigale V4 R for that. But look at the price.......

with this S, the Panigale V4 not only boasts high-quality suspension, but also lighter forged-aluminum wheels, a lithium battery and a steering damper also by Öhlins. Thanks to these elements, it manages to reduce its weight by 4 kilos compared to the standard model. At 187 kilos ready to roll + 17 liters of fuel (i.e. just under 13 kg), this new Sovereign will flirt with just under 200 kilos.
The previous version did better, weighing in at 195.5 units. However, the new edition has shaved 700 grams off the frame and 2.7 kg off the new forged rim/arm assembly. And the manufacturer specifies that this Panigale is 2 kg lighter than the old one. We'll have to scratch the surface of these figures to find out for sure.

Be that as it may, the Panigale's power-to-weight ratio is 1.15 horsepower per kg, seasoned with a hefty 12.3 mkg of torque. To make the most of this, both versions of the Panigale V4 are equipped with the same electronics: 5 riding modes (Race A - Race B - Sport - Road - Wet), an inertial unit, DTC* traction control, DSC glide control, DWC* wheeling control, DPL* standing start control and EBC engine braking control, an Up&Down shifter, a superb new 6.9" TFT screen in cinema format, the all-new Race eCBS and the all-new DVO.

Let's take a closer look at the latter. DVO stands for Ducati Vehicle Observer - the new module from the reds, optimizing the digital strategies of most control systems (those identified by *). DVO simulates 70-sensor telemetry, evaluates the bike's gravitational environment and allows the electronics to adjust its efficiency between anticipation and prediction (reminds me a little of Kawa's KCMF...).

as for the Race eCBS, an innovation from Bosch, this is a rear brake activation modulated by the on-board system, modelling its grip on that of pro riders.
At the front, in addition to anti-lock monitoring, the Panigale V4 Mark IV features all-new Brembo Hypure calipers. Lighter, more powerful, better designed, more consistent and with improved cooling capabilities, these jaws, even more advanced than the Stylema, will dig your arms into your shoulder blades.

A monstrous V4, an even sharper chassis, high-grade suspensions and wheels, bewitching styling - the new-generation Ducati 1100 Panigale V4 S takes the definition of sportiness a notch higher. It also poses a question that's about to get a lot harder to answer. Are we close to the limit?

The riding modes of the Ducati 1100 Panigale V4 S 2025:

"Race: A" - offers the rider the full power of the engine (216 hp) with a direct response from the Ride by Wire system to the opening of the throttle (High Power mode) and, a very firm suspension (Active Track 1) for optimum performance. Race A mode features a low-intrusive electronic setting designed for track driving, with Race eCBS at level 1.

"Race: B - retains full engine power with High Power mode and a different suspension setting (Active Track 2). The default electronics setting remains low-intrusive and designed for track driving, but with less free DSC calibration (2 instead of 1) and with Race eCBS at level 3.

"Sport" - associated by default with the medium power mode (maximum power of 216 hp and more progressive response of the Ride By Wire system) and a sport suspension (Active Dynamic 1). Electronic controls are set to support the rider during sporty road driving.

"Road" - recommended for on-road riding, especially when surface conditions are less than optimal. The RM offers the rider 216 hp with progressive throttle response (Medium Power Mode) and Active Comfort 1 suspension, particularly suited to absorbing bumps.

"Wet" - designed for driving on low-grip or wet surfaces. The RM limits maximum power to 160 hp, with a particularly smooth throttle response (Low Power Mode) and a softened suspension configuration (Active Low Grip 1) to promote grip and safety.
