presentation of the SportClassic 1000 Paul Smart Limited Edition 2006
in the early '70s, the small Italian manufacturer designed its first (and famous) twin. Nobody knew it, but the motorcycle world would never be the same after that. Ducati installs the desmodromic engine in a new sports bike: the 750 SS. Rider Paul Smart races a streamlined version at the 200 Miles of Imola and wins. the 750 SS legend was born.
As a tribute to this spirited driver, the brand has created a version of its new (forthcoming) SportClassic in the image of the exceptional sports bike of the time. An authentic café racer powered by the engine and chassis derived from the 1000 SS. A new work by Pierre Terblanche, a true projection of the future of the late 1973 machine. The design may be nostalgic, but the elements are very much of the moment: high-quality Öhlins shock absorber, 1,000 DS engine released in 2003, high-caliber inverted fork, coded-key anti-theft device... and muscular pricing. 1,000 units will be produced, but it won't be available until November 2005. The rebirth of the Ducati models of yesteryear haunts you, but the Paul Smart leaves you speechless... Take a look at the Sport or GT.
