presentation of the 620 SS 2003
The 600 SS disappeared in 1998, leaving the 750 to introduce newcomers to the charm of the Italian sport. Fortunately, 4 years later, the little sportbike from Bologna has risen from the ashes, powered by the 620 Monster. A new entry-level machine in Ducati's SuperSport range, it claims the same virtues as its siblings. But is 60 hp enough for the young guns?
Struggling with a toad's position all day long, without being able to binge on power at the first hint of nerves, is no easy task... The Italian has little regard for rider comfort. stretched out on the tank, legs tucked into its sides, the urban environment promises to be hostile. All the more so as the controls do little to relieve the strain on wrists already caused by the riding position. The hydraulic clutch will quickly put some muscle into your left arm, while your right arm will thicken at the throttle. The
Despite weighing a hefty 198 kg, the bike is lively, precise on corner entry and stable in the middle. Its favorite pastime: chaining turns together, giving priority to cornering speed. However, we'd like to take advantage of a rounder mill to get out of corners, a bit like the 650 on the Suzuki SVS, while retaining the character of the Desmo twin-cylinder. As for the 320mm diameter double-disc front brake, it's more than enough to stop the little twin-cylinder in its tracks. Biting, powerful, only lacking in progressiveness. Protection is not this little sports bike's strong point.
Clearly, this Ducati was designed with sport in mind. However, the engine is well suited to mixed use, but the exclusive chassis is a constant reminder of its vocation. At €8,000, it's worth €1,000 more than the very affordable and renewed SV 650 S. But the character of the small twin betrays the noble origins of this endearing sports bike.

as far as sensations are concerned, I feel like I'm on a real gp, it responds just as quickly, starts like a dragster, holds the road like hell, incredible stability, incredible "brembo" braking, the same chassis as the 800, so you're good to go, no abs or control of any kind, it teaches you how to ride, I've still got another year of pleasure left with this machine that I pamper more than anything else, it's obvious that it won't be easy to choose after that ... i hope you find one because it's really worth it, they're rare and of course that'll be reflected in the purchase price for the rarity, especially if it's well maintained Rating : 5/5 Respond to titino
Falling into the Ducat\' as a kid, I ride a Ducati 620 sport clamped in 34hp (because of their new law at the ...). I was a little apprehensive when I left the garage because of the half-cut handle (mechanical clamping).
Despite being castrated to half its power, the bike behaves very well on winding roads, as well as on straights, where it's possible to reach 130 km/h fairly quickly (no, no, I'm not a Japanese straight-line champion). It's got the juice where it needs to be, and gives exactly what's asked of it, so you can forget about the bridle. She's a real peach!
As for the position: ultra stiff, wrists in pain... But believe me... we don't give a damn, the bike is so endearing and provides so much pleasure that we forget all about it!
As for the braking: wow! It brakes hard!
In short, this bike is top-notch (even with the clutch on), and just begs to be taken at an angle. Despite a rather demanding riding position, this bike is very endearing!
I recommend this bike, even if it's hard to find!
If an opportunity arises! GOOO! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Max42
Otherwise, in the twisties, super-sound handling, an engaging engine, Dantesque braking
OK, it's my first bike, so I can't really compare, but it's really good..
If I had to change? well, the same one with the same engine (it's so delicious to wait for your friends at the end of a ride and see their faces when they learn that you've got 61hp) Rating : 5/5 Respond to coy[HOT]
