presentation of the 750 SS 2001

apart from its engine, which gives back the equivalent of half a can of Coke, the 750 SS benefits from the same rigor as the 900. The chassis consists of the unchanging tubular trellis frame, to which a reinforced swingarm and inverted fork have been added. With its firm suspension, lack of comfort and demanding riding position, the 750 is no exception to the Bologna sports bike rule. Forget the city, and concentrate on the twisty country roads that await the throaty, cavernous sound of the Italian twin. Recently fitted with fuel injection like the 900, it's smoother than before, while retaining its character. The power may seem just right, but it allows you to take full advantage of the chassis' capabilities. Physical to ride but rigorous, we benefit from the torque more than the extension, which is nonetheless sufficient if the need arises. The engine is full of character, and not just in the connecting rods. The noise is a delight, the gearbox efficient, the brakes gripping, and the practical aspects tense. Boat-like turning radius, playful side stand, relative duo, and hang on to put a U in the front... The SS philosophy is at its best when you're looking for handling before power.

French Model 2001
It's a very pleasant bike to ride (on the track too, despite the lack of power compared to a 900, but it's still enough to scare you), even if the riding position (with the bracelets) isn't great, my back hurts quickly, so to avoid having to change bikes, I've switched to a street bike. I'm not going to part with it any time soon. Have a good ride! Rating : 5/5

owner of a 1999 750 SSIE with fairing. happiness! rustic but so much fun. it's not a missile with its 61 ponies, but it's always reliable in the morning! i ride to work every day, country roads, 4-lane roads and city streets.
fuel consumption in "highway code++" mode 90-100 in the country, 110 on the ring road, and respect for people in town, with a vintage silmotor, fuel consumption stabilized at between 4.4 and 4.5L/100, better than my twin 125. flirting with 5L when I start winding up in the bends and rides by the sea... even with 2 on it. in short 72000km, 24 years old, a great bike, which is increasing in value.

This machine is already magnificent! I fell in love with it back in 1993 when I tried out a 750 carburettor with half fairing.... and finding my Japanese (1100 zéphyr) after the test ride was almost heartbreaking ...
Then, almost 30 years later, I had the opportunity to swap my old inazuma 1200 for a 750 ss ie fully carbureted for the occasion
I wasn't entirely convinced at the time, as the lady had some faults and had changed a lot (I mean from my past)

After 6 months of use, my verdict: it's going to stay with me!
After a total overhaul at Ducati for peace of mind (bloody belts)
A masochistic bike that almost hurts, but when you come back from a ride, you're thinking of the next one!
But above all .... you have to change the original pots and then it's not the same story anymore
Now I'm back to being a kid in Nantes ... watching the dharma and other pantahs go by, in ecstasy
And that, my friends, was the point, because I'm a huge nostalgic for the wonderful days of the Le Mans concentrators .... All I need now is a 2T and I've come full circle!
Take care everyone

My first Ducati, a real pleasure. If you're a biker, you shouldn't only have this one (tiring on long journeys, and for the duo)!
A real little GP bike for around 2800 euros, we love it for its little flaws.

French Poussi Model 2002
I bought a 2002 model last year. Not too expensive to buy (€2,000 / 30,000 km), and if you're a bit of a mechanic, it's easy to maintain (easy-to-lift fuel tank & no electronics). Be careful, however, to maintain the belt and idlers properly... otherwise, goodbye pretty engine!

It's a great bike to ride. The riding position is very (very) forward-tilted, so you're at one with the machine. Cornering stability is fantastic, and the torque is very low... but don't be too quick to judge the machine simply by its power, which is out of all proportion to the bikes of the last 10 years: this is not at all a machine for beginners. The sequence of cornering maneuvers implies body engagement (simple counter-steering won't work), and the combination of a 5-speed gearbox (yes!) and an engine that knocks at the bottom of the gearbox means you can't go wrong with your choice of gear, otherwise you're in trouble! The plunging body position limits lateral visibility and sometimes means you have to take one hand off the handlebars to be able to check the blind spot completely!

It's a treat for those who prefer the steering, the chassis... but of no interest if you want to "go fast" on the freeway, or to get around town, where you'll curse its super-tanker turning radius

A flaw for my taste: the rear brake is weak... yes, there's engine braking, yes, it's not intended to stop the machine, yes, the good damping limits weight transfer... but I think it's a shame

practical info: moderate insurance, €18/month (+20 years' driving experience), very reasonable fuel consumption for a sportbike... no ABS, no traction control, no assistance, no fuel gauge (just a warning light). Just a motorcycle!

Superb Motorcycle, I acquired it in February extra.
The clutch brake is a bit tight and the idle a bit low.
I'll have to go back to Ducati to sort it all out.

otherwise, a very, very pleasant bike to ride, lots of torque etc. ... .

It should have been l\' A.B.S. on it.
In 2001 it was topical.
The brakes are powerful, it's true.

Hi 60 000kms if the seller has maintenance invoices it's good no worries
maintenance every 20,000kms for ssie models
i've got a 750ssie from 2000 and I'm having a blast on the collars, great chassis and good braking, enough power to lose my life or my license lol
after that, for everyday use, personally I'm not for city riding, it's a pain with this clutch that's as hard as the motorcycle's reste, and I'm not even talking about the turning radius
i'm even thinking of buying a 600 diversion for everyday use, and keeping the ssie for sporty rides

Hi
my 750 ss is great, except for the milestones, neck pain because we're leaning too far forward, i think the bracelets are too low. otherwise, the power is enough to put R1s without riders in a pass. Happy riding!

French ducatss Model 1999
hi i've had a 2000 ss for 2 years and already 40,000 kms on the odometer all was going well until the day i started driving it and then a piston clip broke and there was a lot of slamming as a result i don't know yet how much i'm going to pay for it but at least 800 900 euros i've also broken the fuel injection potentiometer and the sensor that regulates the potar i've only had that in 2 years i say it's fine the way it is i've ridden it 6 times on the track and you can believe me if you want, but with my little ss I'm still able to drop r1s and 1000 gsxrs, which goes to show that it's not enough to just have power. Power's all very well, but if you can't exploit it, it's useless ban a good 70 hp and frankly I exploit them thoroughly I also mi a steering damper very effective my time voila even if it's true it costs me expensive I don't care it's my jewelry and I find it no defau I knew how to adapt with and kms do not scare me and it consumes nothing at all that's too good too voila that's all I have to say it's a bike certainly not very powerful but what a character I have even if it's not very powerful character I still had to pay 5 months pension and 550 euro fine and three points for speeding anyway only those with ducats can feel what we recent when we ride our bikes and the pleasure we feel is total happiness and I'm not about to sell it I'll take it as far and then I keep it in collection voila long live the ducatis! ! ! ! I have an SSie with 2000 and 20000kms. It's a great bike, full of character. Every acceleration is a joy, and every deceleration an apotheosis! What's more, I've fitted it with 2 carbon guns, an airbox, a chip and a nology kit (which improves its character). Its torque more than makes up for its low power, and it can be used on mountain roads in the same gear. The only downside is the vibration of the twins at high revs and a turning radius worthy of the Titanic... I think it's the ideal bike for these times of harsh repression, allowing you to enjoy yourself without getting too scared... Rating : 5/5
French DUCAT'SS Model 1999
i quite agree with you JEFF, I had a '93 750SS and I almost liked the behavior of its chassis better than that of my current 900ssie, so much so that I bought myself one to ride on the track, its center of gravity is lower and it's really glued to the road. I love ducat'ss, they have a strong character, they're not sanitized like many, and what's more, they're SuperSolid, bye JMP Rating : 5/5
French Jeff Model 1999
1995, 47,000 km and approximately 18,000 francs (I'll let you convert that into €). These are the starting data, after 3000 and a few kilometers with the machine, a few comments. Mine is quite modified (FCR carburetors, ignition boxes, suspensions etc.) but it must be valid for the original version. - Brilliant front brakes, rubbish at the rear (it locks up or doesn't brake, even though it was replaced 6 months ago) - In daily use, you have to be a bit of a masochist: oil tanker turning radius, fairing that reflects engine heat well, not a bad head in urban use (more so than on the road, even fast), sometimes quirks when starting. - small size, which can be an advantage or a disadvantage .... Among the received ideas to be updated: - maintenance isn't all that daunting if you can do it yourself (technical review + toolbox, compare with one or 2 overhauls for the price) - comfort is much better than on current sports cars, especially for the passenger. And the rest? - the mill's behavior leaves no one indifferent: you either love it or hate it. A bit of a ratatouille below 3,000 rpm, but after that you've still got 6,000 usable revolutions in the handle. For noise, see Guido Brasletti's adventures in the Joe Bar Team comic strip. Of course, a modern 4-wheeler advertises double the power, but it's what you feel that's important, not the figures on a piece of paper. - sober but classy aesthetics, passers-by turn around and handymen rave about the frame welds. - the ride is a bit special, you have to take the bike with your whole body, but once you're on the corner, it's a rail. So it's sporty, and not just for the bike, it's quite physical, especially if you want to brake on the corner (avoid it, she doesn't like it too much). On rough roads, the problem isn't keeping your line, it's staying on the bike. Surprising at first, but you get used to it .... Rating : 5/5
