presentation of the 1260 Multistrada Pikes Peak 2018
Whether roadster, cruiser or trail bike, Ducati never forgets its DNA: sport. Just look at the inordinate power output of the Multistrada. Although their missions range from trail-GT touring to post-border expeditions, it doesn't take much for a nice dose of nervousness to rise to the surface. And there's one that develops its athletic side far more than the others: the Pikes Peak version.
this sprinter, which has been part of the range for a number of years, also benefits from the arrival of the new 1262 cm3 engine. Taken from the XDiavel, retaining the DVT variable valve timing technology and upgraded in displacement, the twin extends its torque range and availability. At 3500 rpm, 11.2 mkg are already available. And it peaks at 13.2 mkg. To accompany this, 158 horses are waiting for the driver's impatience to gallop with robustness. The MTS Pikes Peak lives up to its crown as queen of the American mountains, and shows it.

Strong in power and character, the twin-cylinder fully expresses its vocals with a Termignoni exhaust signed "Ducati Performance". The MTS also comes with a seat with red stitching and a selection of carbon parts: racing bubble, front mudguard, side deflectors and switch surround.
compared to theex-Pikes Peak, the Multistrada 1262 DVT has revised its chassis dimensions, with a new, more open caster angle (from 24° to 25°), a longer swingarm and a longer wheelbase. It weighs 3 kilos less than the standard MTS, thanks mainly to its Marchesini rims, and 6 less than the previous 1200. Electronics have been improved, with a more efficient ride-by-wire system.
The big 330 mm brakes with Bembo M50 calipers, the IMU inertial unit and all the equipment of the S version are back. This impressive list includes 4 driving modes, a 5-inch TFT color instrument panel, hill-start assist, keyless ignition, active ABS in curves, and more.curve-active ABS, traction control, anti-wheeling, up/down shifter, cruise control, adaptive full LED cornering lights and a Bluetooth link for smartphone pairing.
