presentation of the Scrambler 1100 Pro 2020
A fun family, light, radiant and full of joie de vivre, Ducati Scramblers are an invitation to ride... just ride, have fun on a bike that always seems to be saying "it's cool! ". The 1100s are a little more serious, almost more grown-up. Maybe that's why there's now a PRO version.
reserved for pilots, industry professionals or wholesale art dealers? No, for those who want an even more assertive Scrambler. The 1100 Pro refocuses its interpretation of the concept with a migration of the exhausts. Here, they are superimposed on the right-hand side of the seat. It may not be much, but it's a lot more striking.
The rear end is where this model really stands out. It's no longer encumbered by an arm-long plate holder. Only the headlight, indicators and a mudguard appendage remain. To support the license plate, a retaining piece is anchored to the swingarm, as on the 800 Scrambler.
the big Scramblers feature the old 1079 cm3 Desmo, which has managed to survive the ages. Standards castrate it, forcing it to give up much of its former ardor. We love it for its character, its two valves per cylinder, its purity and authenticity. The manufacturer has succeeded in validating it for Euro5, without any loss of strength.
With 86 hp, it's slightly more powerful than the 800. On the other hand, its larger displacement means more than 30% extra torque.
as a PRO, the 1100 Scrambler has above all made cosmetic choices. Black anodizing is applied to the fork tubes, rear frame, front fender plates and master cylinder covers. On the other hand, the fuel tank declares its freshness with its "Ocean Drive" color.

even if the machine makes a strong claim for neo-retro simplicity and a spirit dedicated to the pleasure of riding, it's thinking in terms of software-infused safety. A 4-stage traction control system keeps watch. As for mood, it's a function of one of the 3 Driving Modes - Active, Journey or City. Under the saddle - a new feature by the way - is a USB socket for mobile devices.
All 1100 Scramblers keep the rider informed via a comprehensive, cleverly designed dual LCD instrument panel.
the Ducati 1100 Scrambler Pro doesn't shake up the clan. It's all about presentation. It's also another step towards bringing the whole family into the Euro5 fold. Without touching the philosophy behind its physique - "Land of Joy", as they say in Bologna.
