A sportier Multistrada? Almost a challenge, given the engine's power. However, without mastery, 170 horsepower is of little use other than smoking on the straights. So, since 2011, Ducati has had a more dynamic version in stock in the MTS family.

This was the Pikes Peak, named after the famous race in the States. In this version, the hypertrail gained some serious ground clearance. But here too, the V4 turns a new page in this history.

It 's not for nothing that the most "seasoned" of the Multistrada models is rebranding itself: away with the intrepid mountain name, and towards a more simplistic "Sport". Before we go looking for reasons in all directions, let's take a look at the changes. And that's when you realize that the machine's philosophy has changed.

Gone are the Öhlins suspension, the lightweight Marchesini forged-aluminium wheels and the little racing bubble. From now on, it will be identified by the "Performance" equipment fitted as standard on the S version. This includes a titanium Akrapovic exhaust with carbon tip. This material is also used for the front mudguard.

To assert its identity in the face of a Multistrada V4 S equipped with the aforementioned pack (which, incidentally, it is), the Sport gains a racing deco and a price advantage of 850 euros. Weight is reduced by one kilo to 242 kilos, ready to ride.
