Motorcycle specifications DucatiDesertX 937 edition RS Q e-tron 2022 Between stone and tension
presentation of the DesertX 937 edition RS Q e-tron 2022
Ducati has decided to conquer the dunes and the adventure segment with its new DesertX. And why not get a good PR shot with a shock sequence, where speed and dust arbitrate the battle between the Ducat' and the RS Q e-tron. Between the next Bologna enduro and Audi's Rally-Raid car, it's a fratricidal struggle for the happiness of the studs.
Ducati' s styling center has come up with a special deco for the occasion. The DesertXuses the visual codes of the 4-wheeled prototype. Both share the black of stealth aircraft, the greyness of ashes and red scents to make it clear that we're not here for fun.
Don't get carried away: this ornamental scheme is there just to make a point. We're putting a little more emphasis on the event, with Danilo Petrucci on the handlebars and Carlos Sainz at the wheel. You won't see this color in Ducat's catalog. But you never know... a very warm welcome from the public might influence the manufacturer.
But theDesertX doesn't need that to arouse curiosity. Its very existence is enough to widen the eyes of purists while stirring enthusiasm. Ducati had only entered this kind of category with its air-cooled 900 desmo engine, a long time ago, when it powered Cagiva bikes.
This time, the reds are launching a whole pack of off-road bikes. It's got everything to prove, but it's come prepared with serious suspension travel, 21" and 18" spoked wheels, a 110 hp engine, a hefty dose of electronics (ABS cornering, 6 driving modes, traction control, engine brake management, color TFT screen), an ingenious secondary fuel tank (optional), a recalibrated gearbox and a real adventurer's face. At 223 kilos, it's a little heavy, but many machines of serious tonnage know how to amaze us with their capabilities.
As for the RS Q e-tron....... It's a 4-wheeled, 670 hp monster, with two electric motors (cool, it doesn't pollute when it's running) and...... a 2-liter turbocharged gasoline block to recharge the battery (tej' the green thing).
With its dual fuel tank, the DesertX can carry up to 29 liters of benzine. The Audi makes do with 295 liters.
ducati is preparing the arrival of its next expedition bike with panache and seriousness, and the segment is booming. It should be a blast on the track
