presentation of the 1100 Streetfighter V4 S 2023
Following in the footsteps of the Panigale V4, the Streetfighter gets its share of updates to stay at the top of its food chain. Its engine is even better assisted, and the whole bike benefits from a few touch-ups.
The fuel tank, for example, is modelled on that of the Superbike. This gives it an extra liter and better leg support when braking. The upper scoops had to be slightly redesigned, one of the few visual trademarks of this new SF.
Ducati has had a field day with electronics. This bombshell now benefits from 4 power modes adapted to its temperament. Depending on the mode chosen, torque is calibrated according to gear ratio. There's also a new, wiser "Wet" riding mode, engine braking control for greater stability and precision, improved shifter efficiency, optimized cooling... and on the chassis side, the swingarm pivot is raised by 4 mm to reduce rear-end crush at acceleration.
Bologna just needed to calibrate the engine a little due to the larger diameter of the muffler, but that's all. The V4 is still a monster of power, totally surreal on a roadster. If you take a grenade, pull the pin and throw it into a powder keg, something's bound to happen... Add two wheels, handlebars, red paint and character, and you've got the Ducati Streetfighter V4. Install top-of-the-range suspension to get the S label, then let yourself be blown away. Adrenalin guaranteed.

The exhaust system plays a key role in this adaptation. Larger catalytic converters, smaller rear manifolds and the addition of 4 lambda probes are among the modifications.
Ducati has also reworked the controls, with self-cleaning brake and clutch master cylinders, naturally eliminating any air bubbles that might have crept into the circuit.
The Bologna factory may have gone further (too far?) than the motorcycling community imagined, but it hasn't forgotten an ounce of prestige. The kind that goes so well with its all-purpose models. Öhlins and Marchesini are the guests of honour on this 1100 Streetfighter V4 S.
The damping package here is the Swedish manufacturer's SMART EC 2.0 pilot-controlled suspension duo. As on the Panigale V4 S, the 43 mm NIX 30 inverted fork and TTX 36 shock absorber react to road conditions and riding style.

Alternatively, you can switch to Manual mode and adjust the suspension to your liking. There are 32 "virtual clicks" for the fork and 10 for the rear shock. The steering damper is also controlled by Öhlins.
This will enable you to make even better use of the roadster-Panigale's highly sporty chassis. Provided you've got the technical baggage to back it up. Agility is also enhanced by the use of Marchesini forged wheels. The lighter weight reduces the gyroscopic effect and makes for more incisive cornering. Thus equipped, the Streetfighter gains 2 kilos, weighing 178 kilos in the ring.
The same weight as a 950 Hypermot', but with twice the potato. When the cylinders give their verdict, the order is 208 bhp and 12.5 mkg of torque. Insane. Fortunately, Ducati doesn't leave its hyper-roadster alone on the road. The 1103 cm V4 is accompanied by a host of electronic assistances, all present to channel the efficiency of this ball of raw nerves. They start with the DPL standing start assistant, followed by DTC Evo 2 traction control, DWC Evo anti-wheeling, DSC glide control, Cornering Evo cornering ABS, EBC Evo 2 engine brake management and DQS Evo Up&Down shifter. The rider can adjust all this from the 5" color TFT screen, which has been redesigned with new graphics and a new "Track Evo" display mode.
A quick trip to the accessories section will allow you to further load the Streetfighter V4 with electronics, with the Ducati Multimedia System, DDA + GPS telemetry or the DLT GPS automatic lap time recorder.
Acceleration, composure, mastery, enthusiasm, satellization, erection, precision... Only Brembo Stylema brake calipers, with their monobloc design and radial mounting, can calm the missile - the M50 at its best, with first-rate efficiency.
This is also what the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S will ask of its rider if he dares to provoke it. Besides, how could it be any other way when you're riding such a bitch!
The price? As usual, a mortgage.

The new Wet mode brings power back to 165 hp, with softened throttle control, and relaxes the suspension into a "soft" mode.Electronic control settings ensure grip and stability to maximize safety. 165 hp is 10 units more than the maximum power of the old big 1098 cm3 Streetfighter.
In Race mode, the rider can count on 208 hp, with direct Ride by Wire throttle response and a firm suspension designed to optimize performance. Race mode places electronics at a low level of intervention, without diminishing safety, with ABS set to level 2, rear wheel lift control deactivated and the "Slide by brake" function (which allows riders to drift through corners in complete safety) activated.
By selecting Sport mode, the rider also benefits from 208hp, with direct throttle response and sporty suspension. Electronic controls are designed for perfect handling on dry roads. Rear wheel lift detection during braking is activated, and the ABS Cornering function is set to maximize cornering performance.
street mode is recommended for road driving in decent but not billiard conditions. This driving mode offers the rider 208 horsepower (155 on the old SF) and a progressive throttle response, as well as a suspension better adapted to absorb road imperfections. The electronics are calibrated to be more cautious than in Sport mode, while preserving a dynamic driving feel.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 5 reviews
I've owned dozens of bikes, and I think I've ridden every sportbike in the last 32 years, but this one just knocks me on my ass... it's by far the best I've ever ridden... my previous bike was an R1M, and that too is a far cry from the efficiency of this SF... I'm not about to let it go, except perhaps for another SP version, but the difference isn't really noticeable, so .... Rating : 5/5 Respond to hiatusbelli
