presentation of the HPS 125 Ubbiali 2021
Mondial had already honored one of its iconic riders - Cirillo "Nello" Pagani- with the Pagani Sport Classic. Here, another motorcycle sports figure is celebrated on the most successful model, the HPS 125. It's Carlo Ubbiali we're celebrating, especially the 70th anniversary of his first world title.
Acquired with F.B. Mondial, in the 125 category. Ubbiali may be less well known than Rossi or Hailwood, but he won as many world titles as they did (9 in all - 3 in 250 cm3 and 6 in 125 cm3). The Boselli brothers' brand doesn't miss an opportunity to take pride in this limited series HPS 125.
The celebration takes the form of a silver dress under a blue coat. The subtle inspiration comes from the 125 Bialbero, the Grand Prix machine of the 1950s.
Against all expectations, the bike doesn't take on the posture of a cafra or more radicalism. Honoring oneself with the aura of a multiple world champion could be synonymous with increased sportiness. On the contrary, the HPS 125 Ubbiali has higher, wider handlebars, for a more relaxed riding position. New tires improve handling.
A tribute series is often all about the little details. The Mondial Ubbiali features a blue suede-finish seat, enhanced by yellow stitching and embroidered with the Italian rider's name. The sides feature numbered plates showing the number of world titles he has won. The rims are adorned with a laurel symbol.
France will receive 78 examples of this special edition. This HPS is one of the most stylish 125s on the market. Powered by a 13.5 hp engine (Euro5 ate some of the original 15 hp), it's not lacking in charisma, with its inverted gold fork, spoked rims, 7-inch TFT instrument panel and chrome mirrors at the end of the handlebars.
500 examples will be made, each with a nameplate on the tank riser.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 2 reviews
First of all, the manufacturer mentions a tank capacity of 9.5L. I ran out of fuel 300m from the petrol pump and filled it to the brim with 8.4L. The bike's suspension isn't blistering, and you can feel it on rough country roads. You're pretty well positioned in the saddle, with your legs glued to the tank, but it still takes a bit of getting used to and getting used to, especially with regard to the thickness of the seat, which is relatively thin (you're not on a tourer in an armchair).
Of course, I'm waiting for the break-in period to be over before I can make full use of the engine, but it's a pretty playful little machine, easy to steer and rather light, so easy to handle. I'm 1.70m tall and I'm comfortable on it: I stand on half of both feet. I don't think the bike is made for anyone over 1m80, as the legs would be too bent and therefore less comfortable over long distances. In conclusion, it's a great bike for going for a ride, or even for your daily commute (provided you raise the mirrors to sneak up on a red light). It's a pleasure to ride, even if it's still a 125cc and gets a bit breathless on the hills (a problem that should ease after the break-in!).
I think it's one of the best bikes for starting out in the world of 2-wheelers! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Arthur
