Beyond Harley's "mass-produced" categories (Sport - Cruiser - Adventure Touring - Grand American Touring - Trike), enthusiasts of less conformist bikes can choose from more sophisticated models. They can opt for the luxury of a "CVO", the iconic of an"Icons", or something fruitier with the "Enthusiast" collection. The Low Rider ST is thus available in a Tobacco Fade edition, with undertones of Rock 'n Roll, guitars and whisky-soaked cigars.
The warm paint scheme mirrors the Sunburst finish found on guitars. You'd think a Gibson Les Paul had been smeared on this Low Rider ST. The woody patina extends to the borders of caramel, before finally exiling itself with a general black depth. The forks, engine, exhausts, controls, center console - everything is as dark as the night after a jam in the local bar. The wheels don't follow suit, and are adorned with a bronze finish.
The Harley Tobacco Fade's connection with the world of music goes back a long way... But Harley is unrivalled in its ability to conjure up emotional moments with unfailing communication. To underline this "musical" side, the tank medallion features the brand name on a vinyl record-shaped symbol. A sticker imitating a pick is applied to the front mudguard.
Once you've inhaled the scents of Havana and America, it's time to fire up this Low Rider ST's big engine. One of the most powerful in the range, borrowed from the old CVOs. The M8 117 reaches 1923 cm3, delivering 168 Nm at 3,500 rpm. A huge hand to propel this sporty bagger through the colors of an autumn trapped in summer. The only painkillers on board are ABS and traction control. There are no technical differences with the Low Rider ST, as only the deco has changed. Does this fine work justify the expression of a private collection? Yes, because two other models are in the "Enthusiast" series (the Ultra Limited and the Tri Glide Ultra trike), and this model will be produced in a limited series; which always brings with it that little pinch of exclusivity. 2,000 Low Rider ST Tobacco Fade will brown eyes and ears in 2024.
