presentation of the XR 1200 X Sportster 2010
heir to the XR 750 dirt-track bike, the XR 1200 forgets its racing colors in this X version, and moves closer to Milwaukee's Dark series. The X is darker and, above all, sportier, like a dark warrior. At first glance, all you can make out is a very large brushstroke of black paint, except on the engine fins. Closer to the technical details, the new XR 1200 is equipped with more rigorous Showa suspension components: the upside-down fork is fully adjustable and the 2 shock absorbers are Piggyback type. Stronger Nissin brakes with 292 mm discs complete the package.
while not the biggest in the Harley range, the 1200 twin is surely one of the manufacturer's most energetic. To give the XR the necessary oomph, the twin benefits from new cylinder heads, optimized cooling, improved breathing, a meaner camshaft, an increased compression ratio, and doesn't shy away from poking the crankshaft of the Buell XB-12. With all this, output jumps by almost 26%: while a Sportster 1200 makes do with 72 horsepower, the XR sends out no less than 91. Almost wicked.
thus unleashed on the streets, the XR 1200 X is one of the most predatory of Harley-Davidsons - or as America's definition of the Streetfighter.

The XR is a rare, racy, quirky, endearing wheel, different from daddy's classic HDs, a "youthful" HD before the new 2020 ranges, which are also decried by Johnny (rip) fetishists
My last one is in collector's condition, customized + stage 1 with a V&H FP3 auto-tune box and Remus line, modified airbox.....it's great, rustic, easy to handle (for a US anvil lol), balanced and generous in sensations. I'll never get rid of it...especially as old-generation sportsters are no longer allowed to ride under Euro standards
I don't care if the chromeheads give me the stink eye, I ride a different HD, combining performance and the magic of the US twin...and I love giving them the cold shoulder, because they don't even know about this model, which remains the showcase of a part of HD's history, no matter what anyone says. There's more and better out there, but I'm still happy.
Of the Twins, it's the most up-to-date. After that, it's better to go lighter on the track, with a few more horses.
C'est une bonne base, dommage que H-D est stoppé cette réflexion !!!

I don't think it can be bridled, but you can always go and see your Harley dealer for confirmation.
