presentation of the 1450 SOFTAIL DEUCE FXSTD 2003
"I've had enough!" That's what Harley has been saying to itself for some time now. The Japanese are everywhere, and other new manufacturers are poking their noses in. Even if their machines lack the American touch, their customs are invading the market. Shadows, VN 1500s, Wildstars... it's all overflowing. In short, Milwaukee is getting organized and fighting back. First step: a new engine. Thus was born the Twin Cam 88, an excellent, powerful twin with plenty of torque. Next, the company didn't rest on its laurels. A year later, the Twin Cam B version appeared on the Softail range. This highly symbolic family from the American manufacturer not only sees the arrival of a new mill, but also a new model: the Deuce.
"Are you sure everything is original? "It's true that on discovering it, one might wonder. This machine seems to have been tuned. For its FXSTD, H-d didn't skimp on quality accessories: ogive turn signals, wide fork crown, pretty handlebars, 17" full rear wheel, chrome tank plate (in fact, there's chrome everywhere). a real eye-catcher!
Purists and
Like all Softails, the frame is a deceptively rigid rear model, with shock absorbers housed under the engine. These work much better, absorbing small shocks with a certain efficiency; less so over big bumps. Braking is now handled by new 4-piston calipers, making it much more pleasant and efficient to use.
