presentation of the XG 750 R 2016
it's a small revolution in the world of Flat-Track. After more than 4 decades of XR 750s, the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory team unveils an XG 750 R, the first new flat-track machine it has presented in 44 years, ready for a furious battle with its rivals on every dirt ring in the USA. The XG 750 R made its official competition debut on Saturday May 29 at the AMA Pro Springfield Mile in Illinois.
powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected Harley-Davidson Revolution X V-Twin engine, the XG 750 R was taken to the track by the rider and his team.aided by factory rider Davis Fisher in the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson GNC1 flat track series presented by Vance & Hines. The new XG 750 R model is strictly reserved for competition and will not be offered for sale by Harley-Davidson.
this new flat tracker is powered by the Revolution X V-Twin engine developed for the Street 750 model, a motorcycle designed to adapt to the demands of urban traffic and display an assertive Dark Custom attitude. Prepared for racing, the Revolution X engine gives the XG 750 R all the power it needs to meet the demands of competition and win at the finish line.
the modified Revolution X engine and racing frame of the XG 750 R were developed in collaboration with Vance & Hines Motorsports. Vance & Hines is also a partner of the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines factory dragster team, whose V-Rod machines have won eight of the last twelve NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championships.
"Vance & Hines has sublimated the technical potential of the Revolution X engine designed by Harley-Davidson engineers," says Kris Schoonover, competition program manager at Harley-Davidson."After decades of Flat track competition success gained with the Harley-Davidson XR750, we knew it was time to think about a new generation of Harley-Davidson machines to compete in one of motorsports' most challenging and crowd-pleasing competitions."

davis Fisher, in his first season with the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory team and rookie in the GNC1 series, is the first rider to benefit from the XG 750 R. The 18-year-old from Warren, Oregon, won the 2015 championship in the AMA Pro GNC2 class.
"We wanted to recruit a young rider with strong potential to develop the XG 750 R program and Davis has a proven track record in the GNC2 class," adds Kris Schoonover."We're particularly pleased to have the opportunity to bring a talent like Davis into the GNC1 series and to develop this new machine through an experienced champion like Brad Baker."
brad Baker, 23-year-old factory rider for the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle team and winner of the 2013 AMA Pro Grand National Championship, has competed the races aboard the famous Harley-Davidson XR750, while Davis Fisher took the controls of the XG 750 R during the development stage.
"The XG 750 R showed great potential in testing and the first races of the season," comments Kris Schoonover."But as with any racing machine, there's still work to be done. We're particularly looking forward to testing the XG 750 R in competition. We'll use the season to evaluate its performance and consider the possibility of entrusting this new machine to Brad Baker as well."
