presentation of the Bronx 975 2020

Is it a new model, or is it more than that for Harley-Davidson? Stocky, almost aggressive, muscular and taut, the Bronx looks like a roadster ready to box. A machine far from the beaten track of the American brand, worthy of competing with streetfighters.

Harley needs to reinvent itself. The brand's storied image is no longer sufficient in the face of growing customer demand and targeted attacks from the competition. This means exploring new segments (electric with the LiveWire, trail bikes with the Pan America) and a detour to the Bronx Fight Club.

A far, far cry from the brand's canons. It's impossible to put it anywhere near a Sportster CX, FXDR, V-Rod or Low Rider S. The impression of virility emanating from this machine is in no way comparable to the usual Milwaukee productions. And yet, the Harley DNA is there, just seriously modified in the genes.

The V-Twin is inescapable... with a new approach. The Revolution Max engine is installed here in its 975 cm3 version. Open at 60°, with liquid cooling, this block boasts over 115 hp and torque of around 9.6 mkg. The belt drive is still in place, while the swingarm (finally) looks more like a European element than a Kansas foundry piece.
Michelin Scorcher Sport tires, an inverted fork and radial Brembo 4-piston brake calipers complete the picture.

Especially as the electronics section is promising: well-charged commodos augur modern electronic assistances (Traction control? Driving modes? Cruise control?). And Harley doesn't forget the nostalgic side of things, with a well rounded, ultra-simple-looking dashboard... where a TFT screen full of color, info and attractive graphics certainly nestles.

Why name it Bronx? New York's Bronx district has a notorious reputation for poverty and high crime rates. But it's also the birthplace of hip-hop, an increasingly dynamic borough, home to the Ninja Turtles and no less famous than Yankee Stadium. In short, the Bronx smells hot and it's a lot cooler than the imagination clings to.

Initially scheduled for 2021, the Bronx's release is being pushed back to leave the way clear for the Pan America trail. But Harley's strategy is subject to a difficult economic situation. The birth of this roadster looks complicated, if not worse...

M.B - Manufacturer photos

Pas de comparo avec l'Indian...
French Model 2020
I'm very curious not to see any comparison with the Indian, which entered the segment almost 2 years ago at a... reasonable price
Perhaps my 1st HD after 30 years with Japanese bikes!
Rating : 4/5
French Model 2020
This will surely be my 3rd HD! Even if it's no longer a custom, I personally find it very successful. All that's left is to try it out and see if the price is right ! Rating : 4/5
Ils marchent sur la tête
French Model 2020
Frankly, it's suicide to do away with the brand's flagships (first the Dyna and then the Sportster) in order to move into segments that are congested and largely dominated by other brands. Once again, there's no pilot in the HD plane...they've already done it 50 times and each time it's a flop...potatopotato, they relaunch the customs and it's off again. Mr. HD, do what you've been doing for 100 years and upgrade your models with real brakes, uspattes...worthy of 15 -20,000 roro bikes! Rating : 1/5
French Model 2020
The engine isn't pretty. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2020
Very nice bike with a mythical engine, a Harley I'll be going back to. You can do a lot better for a comfortable and aesthetic saddle. If the price isn't too elitist (it's from the Bronx), it could be a hit Rating : 4/5
French Model 2020
I couldn't agree with you more Rating : 5/5

Hello, I'm the proud owner of a Harley Davidson, a mythical brand, but I don't understand the brand, it takes away from the spirit, a Harley Davidson shouldn't look like a Japanese bike! Rating : 1/5
Modernité
French Model 2020
Harley seems to want to reach a wider audience, and this bike is clearly made for it, with its trendy roadster/cafe racer styling. The spirit of the brand is a little lost, but to survive you have to diversify and innovate, otherwise you die ...... In any case, it's aesthetically pleasing, with well-designed lines that make you want to get behind the handlebars, and quality materials like the Brembo brakes. Bravo belle machine Rating : 4/5
