Harley returns to the past. Almost a pleonasm for some. We're not talking about Doc or some DeLorean here; we're talking about a new collection of motorcycles, some of them nostalgic. These are the Icons, models prepared in the spirit of another era. It's another way of appealing to the Classic side of motorcycle enthusiasts. Where CVOs offer a high level of luxury for a limited selection of machines, Icons take care of infatuating them with the bits and pieces of yesteryear.

The first bike to go through the Icons signature: the Electra Glide Revival. One of MoCo's most iconic Tourers. To identify with the brand's heritage, it is directly inspired by the 1969 version. The first to feature the famous Batwing fork head (optional). The choice of colors, an elegant two-tone blue and white, is the same as that displayed half a century earlier. Harley has also used the vintage badge for the tank, the whitewall tires and the suspension seat. No need to sit down; just looking at it, you'll travel all the way to Nixon's windows before hitting the road for Woodstock. The seat is mounted on an adjustable spring coupled with a shock absorber. To complete the mimicry with its ancestor, a chrome rail surrounds the posterior.

On the FLH of yesteryear, the powerplant was the 1212 cm3 Shovelhead twin, with some sixty horsepower and 9.7 mkg of torque. The Revival shows the technological gap and the increase in performance. Its Milwaukee Eight breathes via 4 valves per cylinder, cubes 1868 cm3 (114 ci), sends out 16.1 mkg at 3250 rpm and delivers up to 93 horsepower. This block ensures Harley's present and part of its future, in an appearance faithful to what we've come to expect from an American engine.

Harley-Davidson 1200 Electra Glide de 1969 - Celle qui inspire la 1870 Electra Glide Revival but if the Electra Revival looks vintage, it also knows how to be modern. Just as modern as the other Touring models in the catalog. You cruise along, feel the two-cylinder pulse, protect your teeth and hair with the upper fairing, and discover the cruise control, Boom! Box GTS multimedia console (16.5 cm color TFT screen, radio, MP3, GPS, voice commands, smartphone connection, Apple CarPaly and Android Auto) and the RDRS safety package. The Milwaukee Eagle now carries in its talons reactive cornering ABS, coupled braking, angle-sensitive traction control and a hill-holding system.

The frame is more classic, with a steel structure featuring a central beam and double cradle, a 49 mm fork with double valves, two side shocks with preload adjustment from the rider's seat, 300 mm brake discs bitten by 4-piston calipers - all in almost 400 kilos of metal. The 22.7-liter fuel tank will keep you cruising for a long time or more.
To add a touch of glamour, the Electra is decked out with spoked wheels and a generous dose of chrome. It also protects its attributes with crashbars under the steering and in front of the suitcases.

As introduced, the Electra Glide Revival inaugurates the Icons class. A collection that aims to be posh. There will be just one or two models per year, all numbered and with a certificate of authenticity. Once produced, each line will be anchored in its own history: there will be no repeats or reruns. 1,500 units of the Electra will be produced. That's slightly fewer than most CVOs.
