presentation of the CVO 1920 Tri Glide FLHTCUTGSE 2022
Touring, Softail, Dyna, V-Rod... Many members of the various Harley-Davidson families have passed through the hands of the CVO workshops. Now it's time for the Trikes to join the dance. From an unusual machine, it becomes a bourgeois non-conformist. Its Ultra Limited front opens the way to a rowboat as wide as a castle armchair. Exceptional by design, it becomes even more so when brandishing the badge of Custom Vehicle Operations.
A Harley is first and foremost recognized by its engine. A CVO is best enjoyed with the parent company's biggest block. The Milwaukee Eight is fat, torquey and vocal, with a cubic capacity of 1923 cm3. Quite simply enormous, with the added treat of a 17.4 mkg blast at 3,750 rpm. In America, it's known as the 117 ci. A crest worthy of a spear and as heavy as a shield. Inside, 8 valves and special camshafts rattle about, while a liquid stream cools the most strategic parts. Outside, only the 117 claw reveals its size. But the red piping under the rocker covers is an unmistakable mark of prestige.
As a result, the CVO Tri Glide may weigh in at almost 600 kilos, but the thrust of the twin will have little trouble moving it. In case the load becomes tricky to manage (weather or road hazards), Harley has installed the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems. A series of pilot assistants that are as considerate as you could wish. These RDRS consist of a cornering-enhanced electronic braking system (C-ELB), a cornering-enhanced ABS braking system (C-ABS), a cornering-enhanced traction control system (C-TCS), a cornering residual torque control system (C-DSCS) and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Apart from these safeguards, this Wisconsin lumbering entrusts its comfort and handling to an advanced Touring suspension. The forks, taken from the big road boats, work with double-acting valves, and the rear shock absorbers are emulsion-operated. Preload can be adjusted manually. That's all well and good.... but in Europe, the competition's semi-active suspates with road detection and multiple damping laws have already made their mark.

Want to pack some gear? There's 50 liters available in the trunk, and almost as much in the Tour-Pak.
Looking for entertainment other than M8 beats? Here's the job for the Boom Box GTS, with CB radio, GPS guidance, iPod playback, USB and SD card, 6.5" TFT color touchscreen, intercom link with the passenger and Bluetooth pairing with the phone.
Speaking of phones, there's also the H-D Connect system. A link between the Trike and a smartphone app providing information on the machine, remote monitoring, alerts in the event of collision or attempted theft, and a range of practical notifications.
In short, this Trike is a 3-wheeled CVO Limited. Something as luxurious as it is surprising, at an appalling price and with an inescapable propensity to get noticed. The trump card of a Trike: the possibility of driving it with a B license.
