presentation of the CB 125 F 2026
Do you remember the first CBF 125? It began its journey the same year Michael Jackson ended his. A lot of other things happened in 2009, but for Honda, it was the return of a utility bike to the range after the discontinuation of the CG 125 a few years earlier.
From the outset, it had set out to be a semi-hubby mini roadster, with a flowing, almost fearless look. Since then, the CBF has gradually reverted to a no-nonsense city roadster, imbued with a desire to be an economical all-rounder.
Almost invisible changes?
You'll have to be very good to recognize this new CBF. Sharpen the eye, push the senses, and discover a better-integrated bubble, the removal of the mandibles on the headlamp edges, subtly revised front and rear headlamps, a rear fender with a curved end - it's a very light relift. Honda clearly wanted to concentrate its efforts elsewhere.
Where else? On equipment. The muses of modernism bring it a new dashboard, trained in TFT technology. Forget the LCD numbers of yesterday's CBF for a moment, and appreciate the beautiful arrangement of information and colors in a 4.2-inch format. Slightly smaller than the 5" on the CB 125 R, Hornet 500 or 750 and many other Honda models, it provides almost as many services. With Bluetooth and the RoadSync app for smartphone control and navigation services, it's an asset of choice for this little machine destined to tread every urban nook and cranny. Another essential bonus: a USB-C socket.

A Euro5+ engine
The CBF's single-cylinder engine isn't very old. It's only been chipping away at this bike (and quite a few scooters) since 2021. Its power is frugal (10.9 hp), as is its appetite (1.4 liters per 100 km). It's calibrated for its host's missions, which doesn't prevent it from having technologies that might be the envy of larger motorcycles. Like its weight-saving starter-alternator. In 2026, this will make it possible to add a Start & Stop system. Called "Idling Stop" by the winged firm, it automatically cuts the engine when it idles for more than 3 seconds. Then, with a flick of the throttle, it restarts.
With a few adjustments, it passes the Euro5+ standard, providing peace of mind for a few years on the market. A beefier battery accompanies these upgrades.
The same team around
As for the chassis, nothing has changed. With a seat height of 790 mm and a weight of just 117 kg - the same as the battery of a hybrid-rechargeable car- the rider will still find the bike as easy to handle as ever.
It's simple enough for leisurely riding: a tubular, diamond-shaped steel frame, a slim 30 mm fork, preload-adjustable amortos, a brake disc at the front and a drum at the rear, 18-inch tires as thin as a moped, and CBS braking.
With all this, the CBF 125 is the wisest Honda ever. And the most economical. It's up to you to appreciate the turbines that go with it.
