presentation of the CBF 1000 F 2010
at Honda, the big roadster can be chosen according to two philosophies: sport & bad boy with the CB 1000 R, road & comfort with the CBF 1000. While both are powered by CBR engines, the CBF offers greater versatility and discretion. Perhaps it has been criticized for a certain lack of personality. The winged manufacturer is taking advantage of the CBF 1000's 2010 redesign to give it more sex appeal.
the change isn't radical, and it's more of a (big) evolution than a new machine. However, the mere sight of the forkhead is enough to change the CBF's dynamism, its CBR 600 RR eyes and the gills under the eye rims immediately giving it a more enticing face. It's easy to see similarities with the CBR 1000 RR 1ere.
Behind its generously dimensioned half fairing, it's immediately clear that the new CBF 1000 is set to raise the bar in terms of versatility and adaptability. The handlebars and seat (new material, narrower front section) are adjustable (780 - 795 - 810 mm), and the windscreen can be set to 4 positions (previously 2) with 120 mm of travel. As for the engine, it's still the refined block from the hypersport 1000 CBR - efficiency has been improved by 7%, thanks in part to a higher compression ratio and a new exhaust system. The latter ends in a single muffler, compared with two on the previous model. The CBF gains a few more horsepower, and its 5 kg lighter weight should encourage greater velocity. Ah, a little styling detail: look at the exhaust pipes, now slightly twisted at the bottom.
Still faithful to its wise technical choices (no need for Superbike gear on a roadster of this type), the 2010 CBF retains a very classic swingarm, a 41 mm-diameter fork (with revised reglages), triple-disc brakes complemented by combined ABS (standard), and a mono-backbone frame... except that the choice of material has changed. Steel on the previous CBF, the single-beam frame is now aluminum. Longer, the CBF 2010 boosts stability by increasing its wheelbase by 15 mm.
the rear end is also revitalized by the addition of a CBR 1000-style taillight. At the front, new elongated turn signals match the roadster's long shoulders. On board, the instrumentation has been completely redesigned, with 2 digital screens surrounding the rev counter. The instrument panel is clearly inspired by the VFR and the late CBR 1100 XX.
As much as the new 2010 CBR 1000 RR didn't arouse enthusiasm in view of these modifications (changed vilo, period), the new CBF 1000 doesn't disappoint in terms of its overall evolution. The options on offer are even more numerous, allowing you to fine-tune a true GT, with several luggage kits, heated grips and an alarm. Enough to give the FZ1 Fazer and other 1250 Bandit S a run for their money.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 49 reviews
I am very satisfied with this very versatile bike.
The only reproach I have is that it handles as soon as I let go of the handlebars, whether at low or higher speed, no way to relax both arms at the same time otherwise it has me handle in all directions. I went to two Honda dealerships and they both told me that this was normal on this bike, that it was badly balanced. But it still seems strange to me. Can the owners of this bike tell me whether or not the valleys bottom out too? My bike is fitted with a Honda suitcase and top case. Rating : 3/5 Respond to L.S
No problems apart from the regualteur which failed at 136,000 km,
as adenbeg said, changing the spark plug is very complicated. Otherwise, I have no regrets. Rating : 5/5 Respond to David974
The only problem is changing the spark plugs
For the rest, nothing to say,

Sober and reliable, very easy to handle. Thanks Honda Rating : 5/5 Respond to Manu Euskadi
It's probably going to be replaced by something too high-slung and off-road-like for the sake of fashion...
In the meantime, the current version meets my needs and I'm already planning the next adventure. Rating : 4/5 Respond to The menace
Handling yes and no. When I bought it, it was handling between 50 and 80 (not very graceful, one finger on it and no problem, but okay). Then I changed the crappy bt57 tires, which are a good way to wallow in the wet, for pr3: the bike wasn't the same, at the top (put on pr4 or pirelli angel gt, in short, modern and you change bike), less steering. Then I wanted better protection (high bubble) and there I found a bit of steering and shaking at high speed (lower the bubble and it rolls like on a rail). I also ride with a top case.
So criteria to consider: tires, bubble, top case?

little known shimmy annoyance between 60 and 70 km/h, it disappears above that. One of the few shortcomings of this good machine, in my eyes anyway! Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
The CBF 1000 isn't the sexiest, nor the fastest, even though it does 0-100 in 3.4 sec
- in town, it's like a bicycle
- in the countryside, it's easy to handle
- on the freeway, you're well protected
No vibrations, no extreme heating, not too much character either, a pleasant pick-up, just perfect.

The only downside is that more modern colors would be nice.

the ideal compromise,
6000 km with it this summer, a real treat, and at that price, bravo Honda!

Very good bike, and I'm not exaggerating.
In the bends, it turns on its own.
Fuel consumption: 18 l/ 300km, and this is checked at every
fill-ups.
It drives like a mobilette.

i would like to buy a second-hand new model cbf, measuring 1.90m. Is my height an obstacle to my purchase?
merci de vos retours Rating : 3/5 Respond to anniedaniel
The riding position suits me, especially after having had a Yam dragstar.
Of course, after an hour's riding, my knees are a bit drowsy, but is it reasonable to ride longer without stopping?
The only downside, in my opinion, is that you quickly reach the load limit Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation

Did you get an answer regarding your hot start problem? I have the same pb, CBF1000F 2012, 12000KM, and it's been a month that hot starts are more and more problematic.

the 4 in 2 is mounted on the cbf 1000, the 4 in 1 on the cbf 1000 f. the look and the dashboard are different, the tank of the f gains one liter. performance and reliability of the same style: honda smoothness. the f is still in the catalog, it came out in 2010, the 2 models cohabited for a while Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
I find that since I no longer have the original tires, the bike reacts much better and no longer shakes at all (despite the fact that it wasn't that bad!) The only downside is the UNIQUE low beam! I find it stupid and ugly, not to mention the eternal reflections: \You've got a burnt-out bulb! In my opinion, that's its only flaw.
ps: if anyone has a solution for the lights, I'd love to hear it..... Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
Without the fury of a sports bike, the CBF will take you far!

I've been able to stow a disc chock and an anti-puncture spray under the seat.
Super-smooth engine at all torques :-)and really not greedy on fuel.
Comes with conti attack tires that stick to the road.
Good seat, comfortable, but less so than my varadero.
What I don't like is the functionality of the half-optic:-( and the lack of a gear indicator, especially in town.
In short, I recommend it :-). Rating : 4/5 Respond to Doug
Here's 18,000 km - rear suspension kit for convenient adjustment is certainly better than the original, a bubble for a little more protection, comfort seat because I'm getting old and everything's fine.
what's left is this vibration on the dashboard with the mechanics telling you it's original equipment with a little smile, it's irritating! ! . But it's still a nice little machine for solo use, lacking torque for duo use. And lacks a little info on the mini dashboard.
But as for the gearbox and pick-up, solo it's all good braking, even on curves. It seems to be ageing not too badly, but I'll have to wait a few more years to be sure, but that's another story.

very good feel and comfort.
On the German freeway: 230 Km/h and still 1,500 revs to go!
Virolos: in duet mode, tends to rub the footrests.
Only (slight) downside: no gear indicator. a shame, because the engine is so smooth that you don't know where you are anymore Rating : 5/5 Respond to M
-Lacks a little recovery ...
...Lighting a little lacking on unlit roads.
