presentation of the CA 125 REBEL 1995

the Rebel paved the way for a new breed of 125 customs: those equipped with a twin-cylinder engine. Beautiful plastic, lots of chrome, and 2 years of success, even supremacy in the 125 market. The engine is smooth, but doesn't give the Rebel spectacular performance. Comfort is worthy of a custom bike... it speaks for itself. The handling is sound, the price enticing, and the low seat height makes life on board and handling easier. Now it's up against some ruthless competition. Yamaha Dragstar and Honda Shadow now offer modern V-twins to match its parallel twin.

French Rebel Model 1996
Motorcycle with 40 000 kms, I did 20 miles, no worries.to gain a little speed, changed carburetor for a 22 mm, and PSB 13 teeth, it improves anyway. As for the bike, it's very pleasant to ride, safe, very reliable, and quite comfortable. This bike has been successful for a long time, which is justified. Rating : 5/5

I think it's the battery that needs changing Rating : 2/5
Not very powerful, but very durable, with a tried-and-tested engine that consumes very little fuel for a carburetor (3.5l on average). Comfortable, although too low for me, who's 1.70 m tall. Performance-wise, it accelerates softly, but on the go it's not bad at all, because depending on the wind and on flat ground, it's easy to reach 105 to 110 km/h on the gps, or 120 on the odometer, without having to lie down on the bike. your regulator isn't working, so your battery is receiving unregulated current +-15/17 volts instead of 12 volts

Un bon achat
French chicobrasil Model 1996
Owner of a 1996 125 Rebel, bought second-hand with 12,000 km for 1,000â'¬, I've done 20,000 km since then, I've given it a Bobber makeover to modernize it by changing the indicators and rear light with LEDs, changed the handlebars and mirrors and shortened the rear mudguard. As for power, I increased it from 11hp to 15hp by replacing the original air filter with one designed for 250 cm2 (larger inlet), drilled 8mm holes in the exhaust baffles, and optimized the carburettor setting, all of which cost me around 20â'¬, and the air filter was ordered from Aliexpr...the engine breathes and revs faster, and the bike is more enjoyable while retaining its suppleness. As for reliability, there's nothing to complain about: the engine is built to last, and it shows, and the build quality is visible. At 3800â'¬ a machine in 1995, it was top-of-the-range, and a Masai or a Mash pale into insignificance next to it. As for second-hand prices, the 125 Rebel isn't very sought-after, so much the better, as you can find one for 800-1300â'¬, which is still a good deal. Conclusion: a very good motorcycle, for a cheap makeover, guaranteed fun... Rating : 4/5

Did you drill just the pot outlet or all the baffles inside? And how many Diam 8 holes did you drill?

Hello
could you send me some pictures of what you did to improve the power of your 125.
I suppose you don't just have to change the air filter to increase power?
Sincerely

Reply to Chicobrasil
Replacing the air filter is not necessary. A 2€ coin-sized hole in the airbox and removing the original filter's reducer pipe is enough. As for the exhaust, since the gases are expelled on both exhausts, drilling a hole in them is not useful other than to get a deeper sound.
an extra 2 teeth on the gearbox output sprocket and it's easy to track at 95km/h without forcing, without vibration. The gain from air unclutching offsets the loss of responsiveness due to the larger sprocket
Anyway, that's the configuration of mine, which runs year-round without a care in the world.

quand changer et voir si le kit chaine hs
French Model 1995
Hello,
how to check if the chain kit is good to change on a Honda 125 rebel from 96?

Thanks
Rating : 5/5
French
if you hear a clicking sound next to the gearbox when you're under-revving or shifting gears, your chain is slack, so you need to retighten it. You have adjustments on the swingarm, with little bars drawn on them, and if you're at the 3rd bar, your chain is too slack,to check, you can also see if your chain moves from left to right by pushing it by hand and if it moves a lot, easily, your chain is shot. You can also look at the state of wear of the rear sprocket wheel if they are completely worn, effectively you have a chain problem.i'm leaving this message for future rebels.... Rating : 5/5

hi thyber56
With this kit, you have to add the 2-carburetor system from some Cb 125s before 88, then fit a 17/39/134 chain kit - it changes everything.
Can you send me the link for the kit, my supplier no longer exists and I have another machine to prepare, thank you in advance

I too own a 1996 ca125 rebel, and I'm very happy with it after making a few engine modifications
First step
-carburetor rebore from 18 to 22 (http://www.unlimited-power.net/francais/ficheca125.htm#)
-replaced the cylinder head with that of the CB 125 Honda
-enlarging the intake pipe (from 18 to 22 diameter)
-change of nozzle to 112

Second step
-modification of air filter (http://www.unlimited-power.net/francais/ficheca125.htm#)
-change gearbox output sprocket for a 14-tooth one
- change the crown wheel for a 41-tooth one

After all these modifications, my speedometer now reads 120KM/h max and a cruising speed of between 105 and 110 km/h with the throttle at 3/4

and when it comes to acceleration, at least it's a bike that responds

I too have had a rebel 125 for 5 months and I'm very happy with it, but above all I've made a few small improvements
Changed the cylinder head against the 125 CB then enlarged the carburetor from 18 to 22 and the intake pipe
Removal of the baffles on the pots with a 16 mm diameter drill
Replacement of the gearbox output pinion by a 14-tooth one, and of the wheel by a 41-tooth crown wheel

French Model 1995
I've had a 95 Rebel for 3 weeks, I've done 1500km in town since I got it, and I'm very happy with it, it rides very well, despite its small cylinder, and it's got plenty of acceleration even with an SDS (all things being equal, of course), it's a real joy to ride in bends on departmental roads. The well-designed caliper withstands the friction of the asphalt when cornering with optimism, and its low center of gravity corrects any beginner's shortcomings. As for maintenance, nothing to do, or almost nothing. I took the carburetor apart for cleaning after 10,000km, but it was useless. Changing oil, greasing cables, cleaning air filters and changing spark plugs are all very easy to do on this bike. And as I ride in wet weather, I put a little oil on the nuts to prevent oxidation Rating : 5/5
French Model 1995
I have a 125 rebel with 22,000 km, apart from a chain kit, an oil change every 5,000 and...a fill-up from time to time, no worries, excellent little machine, a little more fishing and it would be America Rating : 5/5
