presentation of the CBR 1000 RR Endurance TT Legends 2012
with its RC30 deco and riders from the Tourist Trophy, the Honda TT Legends team made a name for itself in 2011. For its first approach to endurance racing, the team had a good season, but finished 7th in the world championship. Honda Europe is putting a lot of resources into this team, and expects to see its potential at the forefront in 2012.
There are some changes in store for the new season. Of course, the machine will play a key role. The CBR 1000 RR is evolving for its 20th birthday, and so is that of the team. A new silhouette, but the same decor, with the RC30 color scheme to match. The new TT Legends partner, Motul, one of the world's leading lubricant specialists, is prominently featured on the hoof.
The endurance CBR will benefit from ABS, but will do without the improved suspension of the new Fireblade. Like most Superbike machines, it prefers Öhlins, in this case with a TTX36 rear shock absorber. On the fork front for 2012, the CBR benefits from the new FGR 200. Stiffer and lighter than the previous FGR 100, it also offers greater adjustability, while the Brembo brake calipers have been replaced by a set from Nissin. The exhaust remains supplied by Akrapovic.
A new driver configuration too. John McGuinness and Cameron Donald retain their positions, while two new recruits, Gary Johnson and Simon Andrews, join the team. In addition to the five World Endurance races, the TT Legends will also be taking part in some of the most famous events in which the Honda team riders excel: the North West 200, the Ulster GP, and the Isle of Man's Tourist Trophy.
