presentation of the CRF 250 M 2013

in the trail galaxy, the brightest stars pile on the big horses, electronics galore, attractive mass and weight budget. The Honda CRF 250 L has arrived as a small geo-cruiser asteroid, with a return to the simple, original idea of the trail bike: a practical, playful single with no pretensions, but capable of taking you anywhere and everywhere.

it's the perfect basis for a supermotard with the same genes and the same mischievous spirit, but with an extra dose of fun and sport. The answer? The CRF 250 M. Take the L version, change the wheels to 17-inch road wheels, start up and have fun.
In fact, Honda has done a little more than that. It's a question of adding a little temperament to the trail to make it a more sparkling SM. Here's a quick review of the details:

lower, shorter and a little heavier, the CRF 250 M is easier to ride than the L. Thanks to revised suspension, with firmer springs in particular, the seat is lowered to 855 mm (-20 mm). As the definition of the bike becomes sportier, the front brakes are more powerful. The brake disc, bitten by a 2-piston caliper, grows from 256 to 296 mm.
The wheels remain spoked, but the dimensions have changed completely. Both 17" wheels are fitted with wider 110/70 and 130/70 tires.

23 hp and just over 2 mkg; the two CRF 250s share the same single-cylinder engine with the same configuration. The M, however, has decided to use a different final drive ratio to deliver a sharper response. As for fuel consumption, Honda claims less than 3 l/100, so there's nothing to worry about between two service stations.

more firmly suspended, more reactive, more incisive, not very greedy, the CRF 250 goes into urban player mode with these fine adaptations. After the failure of the 650 FMX, Honda was slow to venture back into the supermotard niche. Now, with a lighter approach, the manufacturer offers an interesting machine aimed at a young audience, without the need for expert knowledge

French Model 2013
Bought in September 2014 at a dealership, it now has 3500km. I don't regret it! very practical, fairly economical (3.6L in 6th gear at 90/100 km/h) satisfactory engine (admittedly I would have liked 2cv more with a bit more torque), very efficient chassis, reasonable height, as well as its weight. A few drawbacks -> little appreciated on the French market (surprising) it was only sold for 1 year (2013). undersized rear rim tire (I had exactly the same original frame in 50cc). original clutch too loose, I had to tighten it (cable) because it sometimes stalled when braking. I fitted a GPR exhaust, and I have to admit that because of its low distribution, performance parts are hard to find, which is annoying. Perhaps its biggest flaw is its fuel tank --> 7.7L, which is tiny !!!! there should be 10L mini. Rating : 5/5
Modèle 2014
I sold my Cagiva 1000 Navigator to buy this improved moped, and I don't regret it. Less fuel consumption, less speed, less weight, less expensive to maintain and insure, but very efficient and playful as long as you don't ask too much of it on the freeway, where it turns out to be blurred in the direction at "high speed" because it's short, or in a duo (especially if it's me in the back). It's a delight as soon as it turns, and also in traffic circles. You can find it second-hand (which is my case) for 2,500 euros with very few kilometers. The only downside is the finish, which seems to be light, but as it's made outside Japan, that's understandable. It's shunned by the French, from what I've heard, and that's completely incomprehensible when you consider French motorcycle policy. All in all, I very often enjoy riding, and even for a Sunday ride of 200 km, it's great. Maybe one day I'll get back on a big cube if the road authorities stop systematically targeting speeding. Rating : 4/5
une superbe bécane.
I'm going to work all year round in the city, at the top not a scooter follows, just the tmax and still! Economical on fuel, tires and insurance. A great toy! Rating : 4/5
French Model 2013
Otherwise, the bike looks super cool and practical for urban and extra-urban riding. Too bad it's not imported in black and gold :D Rating : 5/5
