presentation of the MSX 125 2016
With its MSX 125, Honda has brought back the playful, fun, no-holds-barred, just-for-fun little motorcycle. Everyone saw in this machine the descendant of the Monkey, with the spirit of the Dax in the background. Taking the Mini Street X-treme on a day-to-day ride is like a shot of fun through the city's obstacles. The bike of Spirou, Lagaffe and the marsupilami. It's as much a part of the city as it is of the paddocks.
for 2016, it's getting a facelift. We're not touching the basic concept, just the styling and minor details. It has to be said that the MSX doesn't need anything more technically, at the risk of losing its charm. From now on, it looks a little more plush, with its cubic side panels, double-decker seat and longer, lighter rear end. The exhaust has had enough of mingling with the seat, and now it's moved under the engine.
The face changes dramatically, with a double superimposed headlamp. The good-natured chubby face gives way to a "mangalized" robot visage. The manufacturer has taken the opportunity to install LED lighting, both front and rear.
A touch of excitement with red brake calipers. A quick look at the redesigned rear mudguard, and a moment of fun and/or practicality with the retractable blade ignition key.
300,000 units sold... The MSX 125 has nothing left to prove. Neither it, nor its little air-cooled single. Engine manufacturers have given it a little attention to improve its availability (a little). Not very powerful, not very technological, but robust as can be, this engine doesn't claim to be about performance. It wants to get the bike from point A to point B without violence, simply with a certain amount of swagger. Less than 10 horsepower on tap, 1 mkg of torque on tap - Honda forgot to be violent. Good thing the owners don't care. And only praise the MSX's frivolity.
