A major facelift for the CBF 125. Honda's most accessible model has a new look and a new personality. Gone is the sweet little tourer; the CBF becomes a little roadster with a touch of wildness. Based on Honda's medium-displacement roadster, the CBF 650, the CBF 125 does away with its half fairing in favor of a teasing fork head and small side scoops. The CBF 125 has a fresh new look that almost makes its predecessor look like a relic.
The disappearance of the engine cowl, a more compact pot, a one-piece seat, a revised passenger handle and a modified fuel tank all contribute to making the bike visually more compact and responsive. Honda's little roadster gets a new steel chassis, 18-inch wheels (17 on the old version) and a dashboard that's much more pleasing to the eye.
In 2017, the CBF 125 gains an engaged gear indicator, positioned in the middle of the dashboard. Braking is enhanced by a combined system.
The engine has been adapted to Euro4. In 2015, it had already undergone some modifications. The cylinder head has been revised and a balance shaft added to reduce vibrations. With no frills, this air-cooled 2-valve single-cylinder engine loses a little power and torque. But when you're riding a dozen nags, half a horse isn't going to make the difference. Where Honda calms everyone down is in its range. With its claimed low fuel consumption and 13-liter fuel tank, the CBF 125 claims to be able to cover 600 km on a single tank. A camel!
What doesn't change is the attractiveness of the price. With a simple technical side (steel frame, slim 31 mm fork, "sufficient" braking system, primary engine) and production in an emerging country, the Honda CBF 125 continues to command a bargain-basement price.

Maintenance
The internal plates of the headlight structure may resonate due to vibrations from the engine and steering. This can lead to bending at the base of the terminal. Metal wires can fatigue at the root of the terminals, leading to flickering or headlight failure, which can cause an accident.

It's easy to use, maneuverable, with a good riding position, and even if some people criticize the hardness of the original seat, I find it rather decent (and yet I'm demanding). In short, as a beginner's bike, or for people who want a light bike with just the right amount of engine, it's an excellent choice!
Since a bike is never perfect, here are a few drawbacks:
- access to the engine oil dipstick is a little tricky, as you have to touch the right-hand plate to remove it.
- The original CST (Chinese) tyre compound is too hard, which can lead to loss of grip on wet surfaces, so a really smooth ride is absolutely essential on wet roads.
Otherwise, with its sparrow-like appetite, comfort and ease of maintenance, it's an excellent bike. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Hawk
Super good for fun, my father did 130km / h and I 120 so has power, tiled front on the sporty, you can be straight back or a little bend according to your desire. In a previous life, my 1st bike was a Honda S3, the ancestor of this one. I was the happiest of kids on that bike. And to tell you the truth, after more than 40 years, if I had to buy a cheap, economical 125 again, I'd have a lot of fun with this bike, which makes some people feel ashamed (well, they buy something more rewarding for their ego) but which sells like hotcakes to the more modest (and not just financially).
