with the 1100 Shadow, you can choose between 2 design styles: the C2, with its typically Japanese silhouette, or the C3, designed in a spirit inspired by the 1930s. The latter is distinguished by more chrome, whitewall tires, bigger mudguards and a punchier powertrain. Although not as powerful as the competition(Harley-Davidson or Kawa VN 500), the Honda twin pulls smoothly and has plenty of pep. Rather pleasant to use for this type of machine, the gearbox unfortunately suffers from an unfortunate lack of gear spacing in the early gears. Braking is sufficient for performance, especially as the riding position does not encourage sporty driving. We can't complain about comfort, which is quite good, but we are surprised by the handlebars. Its shape and width open up your arms. this gives the bike a nice look, but it's less of a smile-inducing when you have to weave in and out of traffic. The quality of Honda's workmanship is there for all to see, although the price remains in the low end of the segment. It's worth noting that this custom bike is made in the USA, so there's no hiding the desire to conquer this market.

i had an indian previously, much too heavy and much less maneuverable than the honda 1100 shadow c3. i find this bike very pleasant to ride and much smoother. my only regret is the somewhat limited braking. i find it very well balanced. Question sur la batterie

My 1100 was bought yesterday.on the way home it stopped after the odometer and the speedometer (same dial) had also stopped.impossible to restart a priori no battery.with cables on the battery it started again before stopping again a few hundred meters further.parked at my son's I tried to recharge the battery with a motorcycle charger.it restarted but the charge does not go beyond 25%.is the battery dead? I've always been a lover of custom.... This is my first machine in this category, after two roadsters.
I have to say that the look is the first thing that attracted me, directly copied from Harley's softail Deluxe, it sparkles and screams like an old lady from Milwaukee!
The handling is great, the ride is pleasant, and when riding a duo, the power means I don't even feel the presence of my passenger.
The only small downside, already mentioned above, is the gearbox.

Very good bike. The torque and suppleness are there for all to see, a delight in town and on small roads. When the pace picks up, you realize that the bike is very supple and limits your sporting ambitions, but it still allows you to roll along at a good pace. The gearbox staggering is a little surprising: 2 seems a long way from 1, while 4 and 5 are too close for my taste, but you get the hang of it. Living on the Côte d'Azur, I own a Honda C3 Aero, which I use all year round. I agree with Richard's assessment of the gearbox ratios and also of the unusual and striking bike's aesthetics. You can see on the net that in Poland and other countries, meetings are being organized around the shadow 1100, perhaps one day in France. Hello,

I own a 1999 model, bought new, with almost 80,000 km on the clock. No problems in 17 years, except for changing the contactor last June.
It never gets old. The chrome is still in excellent condition. The paintwork is top-notch.
One minor complaint: fuel consumption in excess of 110km/h. Wear on the front brake pads if you adopt a slightly sporty driving style.
