It' s been half a century since Honda launched its cross-country business. For its public, the brand created the CR 250 M Elsinore. This machine responds to the growing number of motocross races in the USA and Europe. Equipped with a 2-stroke engine, the Elsinore marks Honda's very first series production foray into this discipline. It met with immediate success thanks to its ease of handling and use, build quality and reliability. The promotional campaign included a film starring Steve McQueen.
The 2023 model year marks the 50th anniversary of the motorcycle through which it all began. Produced in a limited series, the CRF 450 R "50th Anniversary" pays tribute to the super-powerful CRs of the 1980s, while respecting the principle established 50 years ago: to remain a true racing machine accessible to all.
The 2023 version of the CRF 450 R benefits from a more powerful mid-range engine and a revised chassis for faster revs. The main differences between the 50 th and the standard machine are as follows:
