presentation of the FX 650 Vigor 2003

the FX may have a utilitarian vocation, but its scrambler looks give it a joie de vivre. Its single-valve air motor is of the same temperament. Derived from the Dominator, this 650 has been made smoother and fuller at mid-range, thanks to the adoption of a TPS sensor that affects ignition. A short ride around town reveals its city-dwelling qualities. Impeccably agile and maneuverable, it's also very welcoming thanks to its low seat height and small windscreen, which provides welcome protection up to legal highway speeds. Compared to the SLR it replaces, the FX is prettier, better finished, and boasts more practical features, such as a luggage rack incorporating a U-shaped anti-theft bracket. The seat, fuel tank and exhaust have also been given a facelift. The instrument panel is more complete, with a new speedometer and rev counter. All right, the brakes have room for improvement and the suspension lacks suppleness. But the FX will be kind to your wallet, while offering a dose of fun and an ounce of seduction that only urban trail bikes can provide. Young licensees and small people, don't be surprised if it gives you a hard time.

French hyppo Model 1999
bought used, it seems that you have to be careful with the carburetor; mine suffers from an overflow of the tank. Perhaps the vigor's carburetor is more efficient
The SLR's has some design flaws, notably the needle base is crimped into the carb body, which means that unlike many other carburetors, when you change the needle-float assembly, it's not supplied with the needle base...

I bought mine in November 2019, 16400kms, not very popular which helps in terms of second hand price, after a major overhaul it's a gem, beware of certain spare parts that have become rare and expensive in Honda origins. Rating : 5/5

I've had one for 3 years now. I mainly work in the city and in the suburbs, as I live in Paris. Great machine, easy to handle, reliable, low maintenance and insurance costs. Solid all-round loock, perfect for Paris. Average consumption: 6.2/100km.
To improve braking, change to aviator hoses and efficiency guaranteed. Vive le mono...

A great bike, playful and easy to ride for smaller riders Rating : 4/5
French Yoma Model 2001
A little Japanese-style scrambler with many qualities, which, alas, met with no success here in Belgium! Simple design, tried-and-tested engine from the Dominator, torquey although lacking about ten hp. Yet its aesthetics are always up to date. Comfortable driving position, impeccable roadholding, brakes a little light, yes, it's showing its age (1999-2002) compared with the competition. It's a pity Honda didn't come up with a more muscular version, with brakes, exhaust, engine, injection and an effective little bubble, keeping this concept to compete with the hyper-expensive Italian & Austrian divas. Personally, I'm still very attached to mine, to which I've made a few modifications. Like them or not... Rating : 5/5
French Ray_Mee Model 1999
Simple: a Dominator engine tuned a little softer and less powerful, a frame, handlebars and off you go. Torque down low, good vibrations. I fitted road tires instead of the original trail mount

The position is very upright, the seat quite high, but possible to use from 1.70 m I think (I'm at 1.80m, which is fine). The suspension has plenty of travel and is very comfortable. Braking, especially at the front, is not my strong point. The "old-fashioned" look suits me very well, with the spoked wheels, the round headlight and the 2 exhaust pipes in the air, and the two-tone saddle => very nice!

French Yoma Model 2000
A small, Japanese-style Scrambler that met with very limited success, if any at all! And yet, this simple, highly effective bike deserved much better. But it's not in the spirit of the times, it's mosquito-sized, it's got a valiant engine, but it's a bit too small, and it's too wise-looking for a euro. It's ready for anything within the limits of its possibilities, whether it's a ride, an attack on the twisties, a real urban bike, it can cruise on freeways at 120km/h and push the limit to 150 when overtaking trucks, it holds the pavement and brakes very well. I've changed the fork oil to a thicker grade, so it pumps less, and I've just sent it off for a complete overhaul of its hp, cylinder head and carburetion. Laugh into your helmet Marcel, I too have a smile on my face every time I turn on the ignition!

Ah, monos, love them or hate them! A simple motorcycle, a delightful little Japanese-style Scrambler that, alas, wasn't a hit when it first came out. And yet, light, slender, hyper-agile, well-balanced and healthy, it can be very playful when the going gets rough and the going gets tough. Only its relative power will curb your playful appetite. I've just reacquired a 1999 with 16202km on the odometer, and after a thorough and complete service, I've just sent it off to have a ladleful of hp, cylinder head & carburetion added. For most other bikers, it's a motorized velocipede, out of fashion, the size of a mosquito, in short a machine for unskilled beginners. Laugh, Marcel or Raymond, but every time I put the key in the ignition, I get a smile on my face!
And even to finish here, if Mr Honda gave it a makeover with 2 nice tailpipes, a new fork, an efficient windscreen (at last!) and the same engine with inject

Magnificent motorcycle, a small Japanese-style Scrambler, distilling simple pleasures - ah, single-cylinder bikes, you either like them or you don't. A commercial failure for Honda with this motorcycle of simple design, yet with real qualities. It's a pity that Honda didn't have the good idea to redesign it, fork and exhausts, add a good handful of hp, equip it with fuel injection and give it a windscreen worthy of efficiency
All for a competitive price. Personally, I'd buy 2 new ones right now!

I just bought this bike on 13/01/2008 and rode it 230 km to get back to Essonne. Very safe and punchy bike, despite the stupid 34 hp clutch. Negative points
-comfort: the monoshock seems to be made of wood
-the soapy seat
But the bike's engine and stability make me forget these few drawbacks.

French Jacques Model 1999
I found the quiet motorcycle of my dreams. The riding style is rather easy rider; everything at low revs which is very pleasant in town or on small roads and not much after that. On the freeway, it's a real nightmare. Practical, economical, playful but not sporty, a very big 125.....Ideal for work and pleasure...not for show or travel. Rating : 5/5

I've just bought a 1996 model, and it's the middle of December. I'm already looking forward to the warmer weather, so I can take it for a spin in the sunshine (I'm from the northeast). It looks fun to drive, and I like the torque it has at low revs. It looks practical in town and pleasant on the road. It's a pity that the seat tends to make you slide forward. Ciao ciao Rating : 5/5
French VéVé Des B Model 1999
65,000 kilometers with, and plenty of... ! COURAGEOUS little bike for short trips (Paris and region to work, for example). I can't see myself doing 500 km on it, and as a duo = forget it! Front braking just good enough. Rear = not great. Saddle makes you slide on the front. Power a little light (39 hp!), as is cruising speed. Economical to buy, sober, solid, no big faults, no big qualities. The PRACTICAL bike, not the pleasure bike! Rating : 5/5

16000kilometres of economic pleasure with this unpretentious companion .le lot et garonne 4 fois aller retour la haute savoie depuis paris...3.5litres aux 100.un peu mal au dos pour le conducteur...et on peut aussi prendre les chemins.aucune pann a signaler même pas une goutte d'huile.on la confondre facilement avec une 125.ce n'est pas valorisant mais elle fait le poids d'une125.ce type de moto reviendra a la mode avec les contraites actuelles Rating : 5/5
