presentation of the VR6 Raw99 2023
The Raw was presented as a simplified version of the Horex VR6, with a lower price tag than the other versions in the range. But the Raw99 special series has nothing to do with that. It's all about carbon and prestige.
First, let's talk about the engine, which remains an alien in current production. A 6-cylinder in VR (hence the name) that develops some 163 hp, and above all a very special block, with a single cylinder head, 3 camshafts, 18 valves and a compact format.
Now let's find out why the Raw99 is even more unique. Because of its carbon overkill. Not surprising, since Horex's proprietary gearbox specializes in carbon. This material is used for the steering column, rear frame, mudguards, headlight casing, footrest supports, chain guard, crankcase protectors and speedo support. Such use allows it to lose 5 kgs.
If only that were enough... But the VR6 also comes with forged aluminum wheels made by Horex, a new headlight with an H-shaped LED signature and curve lighting system, Öhlins suspension, Brembo M50 brakes, a huge TFT screen and exemplary attention to quality.
Only 99 examples will be produced to celebrate the German brand's 99th anniversary. The price is correspondingly high, but not that much more than some of the more insane Italian models.
