presentation of the COMET 125 2008
a handsome little roadster powered by a V-twin... The Koreans go wild. Sprinkle in a few handfuls of mimicry powder and you'd be forgiven for wondering if you weren't looking at a 2 1/2. And with good reason: the Comet 125 has the same frame as the 250, and above it, also very similar, is the 650. In 2004, the adoption of a bigger headlamp gives it even more poise.
not a bad big sister. Its engine is an air- and oil-cooled twin-cylinder developing around 15 hp. Performance-wise, below 7,000 rpm, the mill feels hollow, but after that, it does its bit despite the machine's weight (150 kg unladen). Top speed is sufficient, estimated at 120km/h. The aesthetics are very well thought-out, and at first glance the bike doesn't look like it belongs in the 125 class. It has a 17-liter fuel tank, making it ideal for long rides. Weak points: spare parts take a long time to arrive, the original rear tire doesn't grip too well and the chrome parts rust very quickly. As for the engine, it really lacks the power to pull the weight of this machine. Strengths: aesthetics, size and very powerful braking. On the other hand, the €4,000 price tag is a bit hard to swallow.

2OO9 bike, low fuel consumption, very good handling with Michelin Pilot road rain tires. Great 500 sound with an English Pipe Werx.
A real pleasure, designed to cut down the miles...

it's been 4 months since my bike has been running and it refuses to start
thank you for your help Rating : 4/5 Respond to valhelsing
could you help me please

It's very pleasant to ride, I've gone up to 120km/h several times (obviously you don't want to stay there too long, because at 120 it's at 12rpm), the braking is very good, and if it brakes less well than the bigger bikes, that's normal as it only has one disc at the front, whereas most of the others have two
as far as looks are concerned, people are often pleasantly surprised to hear that it's a 125, its weight still allows good acceleration (changed nozzle), the headlight and round meters are not out of fashion (the bandit or the hornet have the same thing) and as far as noise is concerned, I think that if you want a good noise, you need to change the exhaust pipe
To conclude, I think the hyosung comet 125 is perfect before taking the big cube licence. Rating : 5/5 Respond to robin18350
then find a hyosung dealership and it'll go faster. in short, mine runs like clockwork and it's 1 year old and doesn't rust ... all's well, I have absolutely no regrets ... especially after 1050 km in 10 days ... to be continued Rating : 5/5 Respond to cedric

*the welded pots which give way, a problem totally taken care of by the importer who re-supplies the same pots and so on
* then there are the unexplained engine failures, known to the importer and the brand, which nevertheless seems reluctant to replace the engine. These failures are due to an unsuitable sealant that becomes unstuck and clogs the lubrication circuit, leading to overheating and failure
*and a problem that has just happened to me: part of the swingarm broke, causing the machine's bottom to collapse, the wheel to lock and the rider to fall off the bike
in my case, this last problem is in the process of being solved, perhaps, but in any case it heralds a long period of immobility (don't worry, it happened to me at 20 mph, so no bodily harm was done)
*i was going to forget also an original front tire that has delaminated (the rubber of the tread is detached from the carcass of the tire, over the entire circumference of the wheel) you are refused to change the tire on the pretext that you may be riding on the sidewalks
so yes, the comet is beautiful, with a nice size, even if we'd like a slightly more powerful engine, but it also has serious design and manufacturing faults.
if anyone has had one or more of these problems, or any others, i'd like them to get in touch with me. thank you

Apart from that, it's a good bike for the city, and not unpleasant for the road, on a ride, but solo, the duo is not its forte. Rating : 5/5 Respond to loupiot
Mine is KC, engine out of order after only 6000 kms
and in spite of having talked to an authorized hyosung dealer, it was original without a kit
My dealer told me he hadn't yet encountered this kind of problem, and as the warranty expired 2 months ago... I'd have to shell out €1,000 for a standard engine exchange
That seems a bit much for a 2003 bike rated at 2400, so... I'm waiting for a commercial gesture from SIMA or the manufacturer, but I don't have much faith in it
Be sure to have your engine serviced by a Hyosung dealer, because if you have a problem... there won't be a solution
otherwise,
it's true that the chromes rust quite quickly if the machine is left in the rain, and the gearbox is a bit hard during the break-in period, but it's all right with the miles. the headlight is a bit undersized on the 2003 models, but the 2004 and up models have adopted a new, more powerful headlight
In conclusion, this is a very pretty roadster that has all the makings of a grand tourer, but should be reserved for city use. Rating : 5/5 Respond to spam69

Finally, for the record, it takes 5 weeks for parts to arrive by container from Korea, then another 2 weeks for Sima to manage its stock, and another week for them to be available from a dealer... I've tested it (alas)
Otherwise, it's a very sypmpa motorcycle for quiet rides or short daily commutes (bike, work, sleep). Rating : 5/5 Respond to benphu
