presentation of the 1830 Challenger Elite 2025
The Challenger takes its Premium version a step further, and Indian calls it Elite. These are top-of-the-range motorcycles, inspired by the Milwaukee-based competitor's CVOs. The Elite models are not yet as richly endowed as their compatriots, but the level of performance is close. For the Challenger, the harvest of equipment is equivocal to justify the name.
For 2025, the new"White Crystal with Black Candy, Red Candy, and Gloss Black" color scheme is as striking as it gets. As if the brand wanted to emphasize the performance of its bagger. The twin's displacement and watts have been increased this year: 65 cm3, 4 horsepower, and a ladleful of torque to reach 181.4 Nm.
On top of this big heart, Indian (like so many others) uses an old trick to ensure exception and envy: the limited series. This always brings a certain satisfaction and a touch of nobility. The 2025 version is slightly more generous than its predecessors. Indian has planned 350 units to satisfy the international market.
High Definition paintwork
They'll be easily recognizable by their paintwork, which is less conservative than on the Limited or Dark Horse models - the cocktail of red and white encrusted with particles of broken glass takes 24 hours to complete. More discreetly, Indian places a special emblem on the center console: a representation of Gene Walker, nicknamed "Alabama Flash", piloting a PowerPlus in 1920. The year in which he set a speed record and became the fastest man in the world.
The Elite returns to its machined five-spoke wheels, combined with the satisfaction of a muscular front end (43 mm inverted fork, Brembo M4.32 radial calipers, aviations hoses).

Endless equipment options
It's a little further down the road that the enrichment reveals itself. At the top is a larger, tinted windscreen. Lighting features include additional headlights and the Pathfiner S adaptive cornering light. Chunky running boards are fitted for rider and passenger, while the seat's visual impact is clearly enhanced by its attractive stitching.
The Challenger Elite lets you choose between its big 112 ci engine or its sound system. No less than 400 watts are released on board, with the help of the PowerBand Audio kit. The sound system offers stronger bass, more volume, and a quality that adapts to the speed of the motorcycle and outdoor conditions. The soundtrack will be managed from the Ride Command interface, with its 7-inch screen and heavy electronic spread: GPS, multiple information, radio, MP3, tire pressure, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, 9-band equalizer, etc, etc.
That was for entertainment. For comfort, the Elite comes standard with heated seats and electronic suspension, which appeared on the Pursuit. Nothing furious either; the rear shock preload can be adjusted from the driver's seat. There's still a lot of work to be done before we can rival the competition with semi-active pilot-controlled suspensions. Backlit switches will make it easier to operate the controls at night.
On the safety front, ABS and traction control are angle-sensitive. A rear radar system adds a blind spot warning system, a vehicle approach sensor and an anti-collision warning system, while the rider can count on the assistance systems found on all Challenger models. This is the most powerful bagger in the range. Its 126 hp and 18.5 mkg of torque are digested by three driving modes (Standard - Sport - Rain). Cruise control stabilizes speed and heart rate. After that, we leave it to the silicon, which enables keyless ignition, rear cylinder deactivation, hill-start assist, combined braking and everything else that allows the Indian to think.
As with any good bagger, only light travel is allowed. The panniers will allow you to carry 68 liters of victuals, small items and a few daytime effects.
Cruising in good company, at an affordable price.
