presentation of the 1811 CHIEF VINTAGE 2014

The Indian Chief Vintage rolls through history. A touch of imagination takes you to the plains of Arizona, where warriors and horses still gallop in the memories of the land. With its large tan leather saddlebags, stout engine and cavalry-like styling, could the Chief Vintage be imbued with the spirit of the apaches of yesteryear?

It's no longer horse steps but the pulsating belches of the twin that drive this great rider. Based on the Chief Classic, the Vintage is more extensively equipped to blend in with an old school episode. The hips are weighted with the aforementioned saddlebags, a large removable windshield sits on top of the headlight tribe, and what can we say about that magnificent leather upholstery. A true western motorcycle.

Before leaving the handlebars to Cole Younger or Jack Mc Call, let's let ourselves be transported to the West to the rhythm of the big 1811 cm3 twin-cylinder. The Thunder Stroke 111 can use 14 mkg to lift the Indian's 379 kilos. The cast aluminum frame smells of buffalo, and it's impossible to look away from this enormous machine. The 4-piston calipers around the 300 mm discs are easy to forget (especially as they're well hidden). The rear brake has the same disc diameter, but a 2-piston caliper; all backed up by standard ABS. The Indian Chief Vintage, like the rest of the range, features a 20.8-liter fuel tank, 6-speed gearbox with belt drive, 46 mm forks, cruise control and keyless start.
We like the spoked wheels, the whitewall tires, the Native American headdress on the front fender, the wide instrument console with its large needle-type speedometer, its gleaming chrome and its typical long skirts. What we don't like is the hefty price tag... which has to be put into perspective. The previous edition of Chief Vintage, equipped with the PowerPlus 105 engine, demanded almost 40,000 euros. Today, it's down to just under 25,000. At that price, there's no room for the Winchester, but a hell of a lot of passion and a true American icon.

I've owned a 2014 vintage for 8 years now, and what more can I say, it's a magical bike despite its weight. A finish and assembly quality worthy of the brand. 8 years and nothing moves, perfect chromes and a very good quality seal for this great tourer. Long live Indian. Rating : 5/5

Hello everyone. I'm only posting my comments today, because I think it takes a certain amount of distance to talk about this type of machine...and what a machine it is! It's true that, as far as I'm concerned, it's the weight (at low speeds) that bothers me the most...but for EVERYTHING else, it's a superb bike...in terms of feel and finish! A winning comeback for the Indian brand... Rating : 4/5

Alas,
I thought I'd bought the bike of the century, but I'm forced to part with it because it's impractical to move.

Having bought the Indian Chief Vintage in May 2014 I noticed 3 months later a discoloration of the saddlebags and the saddle which of Havana turned to green Caca-d'oie, it is due to the Sun...I contacted Polaris France which directed me towards the dealer to make reteindre the whole ....the result is mediocre and as horrible as before, moreover I am announced that it would be necessary to make that twice per annum.i contacted Polaris again with a registered letter so that, in accordance with the contract, the warranty would be applied and the customer would not be taken for a sucker after having made a cheque for 27000 Euros....so good bike, but deplorable after-sales service ......for a brand that prides itself on offering a luxurious product.... I rode it yesterday. What a bike! Apart from resembling the Big Chiefs of the '40s, it's got a terrific character, despite the fuel injection. The 111ci V-twin (1811cc ... 2 cylinders of 905.5cc !!!) vibrates well. The weight on paper was impressive at first glance, but once you're on the road, you get used to the bike. Modern yet full of tradition, this bike is torquey to a point that makes low revs a feast of vibrations and muffled thunder that the homologated pots can't disguise. Pure pleasure! I'm still soaring in my memories of that fantastic ride. And then that face! It's so inconspicuous that people only look at it! Rating : 5/5
Exceptionnel

I'm very familiar with a 1946 Chief, with blue and white breakage on the left, which is exceptionally beautiful
We're tempted by the current red model with tan leather saddlebags
But the price of showing off....
