presentation of the KLX 250 2015
the KLX 250 has been on the trail for many years. In 2009, this trail bike was given a facelift. Not content with a total exterior makeover, the engine and chassis have also been reworked to make it a more rewarding and fun machine, both on- and off-road.
initially intended as a more road-oriented version of the KLX 300 R competition enduro, the KLX 250 shares much of the temperament and performance of its predecessor. Lightweight and compact, its 250 cm3 liquid-cooled, dual overhead camshaft engine is largely based on that of the 300 R, and offers a broad torque curve that kicks in at low revs and continues right up to the top of the rev range. However, with its 22 hp, it's hard to keep up with a KTM EXC, which is admittedly much more typical.
The lightweight perimeter frame, built from square steel tubes, belongs to an older generation of frame types. But it gets the job done. Finally, the inverted fork with 43 mm tubes and fully adjustable gas shock mean that the KLX can be enjoyed just as much on asphalt as on dirt.
in addition to the superb new, more aggressive bodywork, this model benefits from a major new feature: the adoption of fuel injection. But the list of evolutions doesn't stop there: lightened, high-capacity radiators reduce overall dimensions and weight; suspension settings and internal parts have been the seat and handlebars have been redesigned to facilitate rider mobility and bike steering - to name but a few examples... All measures designed to boost the KLX 250's performance on and off-road.
