presentation of the Z 900 Performance 2017
750, 800, 900... The mid-size continues to grow, until it reaches its mythical displacement/name: that of the original, in the 70s. A return to grace with a machine that's faster than the one it replaces. With spirit, with technique, with desire. But to express yourself more fully, it's tempting to dip into the accessory bank. Or to take a look at the Performance package.
For several years now, Kawasaki has been offering a whole series of packs (Performance, Urban, Tourer...) on these machines, designed to increase their range of action. For the Z 900, this means the addition of a smoked windscreen to relieve wind pressure; a color-matched seat cover to polish up the styling; a gel fuel tank protector to soothe the claws of zippers; and finally, an Akrapovic silencer for the sound system.
The Slovenian manufacturer needs no introduction, but we'd like to highlight a few of the values of this appendage. Available in carbon or titanium finish, it lighten the silhouette of the grinding wheel. The result is a more pleasant sound, and a certain improvement in performance. Compared to the original, this exhaust weighs 2.8 kilos less, increases power by 2.6 kW (or approx. 3.5 bhp) and torque by 2.1 Nm.
Okay, you'll have to pull out two big purple ones to get the extra Performance Pack. But when you put it into perspective, the cost of the accessories in the catalog is almost 20% higher.

I must also say that I quickly got fed up with this neon green color (it's not the real Kawa green of the brand's beginnings!). It's not easy to resell, as the price drops pretty quickly
All in all, though, a very good bike, reliable and affordable. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Alain81
