presentation of the Z 1000 R 2019

the battle rages on in the jungle of big roadsters. Yamaha MT-10, KTM 1290 Superduke, Aprilia Tuono V4 and BMW S1000R.. . so many terrifying, rampaging creatures. Completely overwhelmed by the violence of the confrontations, the greens take advantage of their hue to remain hidden in the foliage. Concerned about the survival of their fighter, the Akashi clan decided to sharpen their Z1000. Unfortunately, a complete overhaul is not yet on the agenda. So they sharpened the claws and gave it a special color, highlighted by two lines of make-up on the fork head, as if to perfect its camouflage outfit. But then, why "R"? "R" for rancor, perhaps. A grudge against all those predators who have supplanted it in ITS category, that of nasty roadsters. And don't expect it to purr, either: as befits its "Sugomi" (for "wild instinct") philosophy, the Z retains its bestial side.

Kawasaki Z 1000 R 2019 as you can see, Kawasaki has not yet given birth to a new bloodthirsty monster. The Z1000 remains what it is. A big, stocky, pit-bull-looking roadster, its head tucked between two huge, muscular shoulders. Failing to take on larger carnivores, the hound works on its stance. For this "R" version, he gets a superb Ohlins rear shock absorber, the S46DR1S. This gain in motricity has led to some attention being paid to braking. For this, Kawa' brought in another renowned manufacturer. Brembo. The firm supplied the powerful M50 calipers - the kind installed on the H2 or ZX-10R - as well as 310 mm-diameter front brake discs. To perfect the feel of the whole, aviations hoses are fitted as standard. More anecdotal, but fans will appreciate the Z inlay on the seat.

as for the rest, the Z1000 is very similar to the "classic" Z1000. Starting with the very successful front suspension. It's as light as ever, hovering above the road surface. Handling it, you feel as if you're on a magic carpet, such is its fluidity. Aided by a very sound chassis overall, and the arrival of all this great equipment, you can expect to have more than enough to make you feel like a fakir. The ECU's programming is also in line with this. It has been refined to deliver power more smoothly. This Z1000 R is a silky-smooth beast! The engine also remains the same, as generous as ever despite its adaptation to Euro4. An example of smoothness sprinkled with a hint of tangy sweetness at high revs. A simple call in third gear is all it takes to see its nose and broad body straighten up. Delicious. Despite its dietetic 142 hp, there's more than enough to fill you up with sensations on the open road.

this Z 1000 R takes the opportunity to unveil a slightly revamped dashboard. The gear indicator finally makes an appearance, the fuel gauge changes design and a shiftlight illuminates the rev counter when it's time to change gear. These few prestigious ingredients obviously add to the price.

Horrible !!!
French Model 2019
A great engine with a puking body, frankly, it's hard to get any uglier ! When I see a z 900 rs, it's a real eye-catcher, okay it's got nothing to do with it, but it's the beauty and the beast ! Rating : 3/5
