presentation of the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece édition 2024

For 2024, KTM and Brabus are proposing an even more exclusive version of the 1300 R. The demonic roadster is set to become a show bike, or even a technically timeless work of art. Violent in every way, the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition takes refinement to another level.

This Masterpiece immediately stands out with its golden rims. Magnificent Brabus Monoblock Z "Gold Platinum" wheels created specifically for it, forged and CNC machined with diamond-polished sections. Gold is also found on the rims of the exhausts and on the piping running throughout the machine's bodywork.

The cladding is reinforced with carbon. The Brabus 1300 R already received a number of parts made from this noble material. The Masterpiece edition adds more for the swingarm protection and the small triangles between the frame tubes and the rear frame. The exclusivity of this model is further emphasized by a small "Brabus Masterpiece" plaque on the seat back, a badge on the front of the fuel tank displaying the serial number, and a carbon box containing the keys to the grinding wheel plus another identification badge. A bit like the MV-Agusta special series.

Brabus offers its latest "creation" in two colors. A dark "Onyx Black" and a coffee-cream-racer "Diamond White". Each is only available in a limited edition of 25, even fewer than the previous series - the first 1300 R in 2022 sold 154 units, the following year 290. The carefully crafted marketing slogan will enable the 50 Brabus Masterpieces to be sold in record time, just like those that preceded them. Special series always sell well, even when they cost 40,000 francs, as in this case.

Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece éditionthat's almost twice as much as a KTM 1290 Superduke EVO. Why mention this Austrian hyper-roadster? Because that's what the Brabus 1300 R is based on. The stylish round headlamp, the torturously designed side scoops and those winglets are enough to change the expression of the beast. Fortunately, however, it doesn't change the cavalry underneath. That's why we're able to announce a hefty 180 hp from a 1301 cm3 twin-cylinder engine. The enormous torque exceeds 14 mkg, enough to move several vertebrae with each acceleration.
The chassis is as sporty as can be, with a steel trellis frame in which the engine acts as a stiffening element, semi-active WP suspension, a 48 mm thick upside-down fork, a very appreciable monobracket and highly effective Brembo Stylema 4-piston brake calipers to bite 320 mm of track.

It's also the gain of strong electronics. This powder keg is overseen by 5 Driving Modes, active traction control in curves, cornering ABS that can be deactivated at the rear, cruise control, keyless start, shifter, engine slip control, tire pressure monitoring, anti-wheeling and a 5-inch color TFT screen. Brabus offers a little bonus with a special animation when the dashboard lights up.

As with the Brabus I and II, the Masterpiece is equipped with a top-of-the-range leather seat, heated and adorned with the in-house "Diamond Rising" motif. Heated grips are also standard. As if anyone would dare to venture out into the cold and slippery conditions with such a machine....

this "double" limited series will be the last stand for the KTM-Brabus. Indeed, these exclusive motorcycles are reaching the end of their career, and they're making it known with a touch of refinement. Neither the mechanics nor the chassis have been specially modified for this final version - a pity - but Brabus does offer a protective cover, a floor mat and the opportunity to visit the Brabus factory in Bottrop.
