Where does the adventure begin? In front of the bush or Chichen Itza for some, just down the first path after the street for others. At KTM, it starts with a 390. With a profile close to that of the 890, 43 horsepower and road parts between the wheels.
For off-roaders, that's exactly what's wrong. The wheels. On the 390 Adventure, they don't have a very wandering profile. But here's the SW version to remedy the situation. spoke wheels come as standard. Better for handling the irregularities and surprises of the trails.
However, Katoche has left the tires and dimensions unchanged. The 19" and 17" TKC 70s will suffice for touring, but.... Does the SW really want to be more adventurous than its sibling?
The word " trail" is synonymous with travel, escape, and price inflation. This version of the Adventure costs a few hundred euros more than the standard, for an 8-brick finish. Arg, the equivalent of a 700 / 750 roadster for a 400, that's a bit steep.
But the 400 in question has Apex suspension with adjustable compression, rebound and preload*, traction control and ABS responsive to cornering, two riding modes, a limited-slip clutch, a 5-inch TFT screen and a 2-position mini-bubble.
Well , the SW is a KTM 390 Adventure with spoked wheels. Almost a new-age 400 XT... with 13 hp and 25 kg more weight.
